Whatever happened to drilling a hole(s) in the oem thermostats like in the good 'ol days?

I bought this to replace mine as I was putting in a new engine and thought I might as well replace everything. Brought it to my mechanic who promptly told me he wouldn't install this in any vehicle and stated that the Mishimoto thermostats were not any good. Soo, if anyone does want one cheap. hit me up.

Another failed Mishimoto Thermostat it failed in less than 2k Kilometers and almost cost me thousands, the good thing is I always keep my p3 Guage on coolant temp display and I've been noticing the temp climbing up weirdly.

Mishimoto is definitely black listed in my book.
