What color are these Gold wheels on Hot Lava?

I'm a hot lava owner and have been trying to find just the right shade of gold for the wheels to pull off the look without clashing.

Pinaygirlcassy is about the only owner who has done it successfully as seen in the picture.

Can anyone help out with info on what the wheel color is etc?

Also, if anyone has other pictures of hot lava with gold wheels that'd be awesome.

Work Emotion D9R?

Custom color that you can order from Work Wheels. It is very very close to the Platinum Gold (PG) color originally available on the Brombacher wheel.

Thank you that's very helpful. Now for a bonus question: would it be possible to powder coat a wheel something close to this color?

You can do just about any color with powdercoating. It's all about how close of a match the mix is and how many coats are applied.

I an going to try matte gunmetal on my hot lava. Remind me in a few days I should have pics. They will be going on this weekend if all goes well.

That would be awesome man thanks!

Dark gray is the safest fall back color. I'm looking to powder coat the stock wheels and make due for a while. This gold color is my ideal. White would be second choice but I hate cleaning shit. Let me know how yours goes

TeutonicShift89 04-07-2016 05:48 PM

So I emailed Works Wheels to get their feedback on what color this might be:

"We never offered Emotion XD9 in custom gold finish, therefore we won't be
able to tell you the exact finish in the picture.

Have a nice day.

WORK Wheels USA
18410 Bandilier Circle

So no luck there

Have you DM'd Pinaygirlcassy on Instagram about the wheels?

pinaygirlcassy 04-14-2016 05:35 AM

Find a powdercoater near you and make sure they are okay with you getting the powder yourself, then go to prismaticpowders.com and look through their gallery. They have a LOT of colors in the gold/bronze category. I had a set of 17x9 wheels done, I bought four pounds just to be safe and they gave me the leftover. I still have close to 2 pounds left, so you are looking at about $50 in powder. They will also send you up to 5 swatches of powder on metal for free, just to see it in real life.

Thanks toast that's pretty awesome. I'll check them out

The amazing part is the person left a note. Usaa adjuster has already looked at it and check is in the mail. Of course the initial evaluation isn't quite high enough to actually cover it but I'm sure it will all work out. Working at a car dealership has some perks as far as learning the ins and outs of how these things work

looking on PrismaticPowders.com---there are fuck ton of options.

Prismatic Gold looks pretty close to the shade in Cassy's last pic?

http://www.prismaticpowders.com/uplo..._1200xauto.jpg

http://www.prismaticpowders.com/gall...sion-Top-Coat/

It looks almost too yellowy but then this cover looks almost spot on in this photo:

if i had a hot lava frs, i wouldve done the exact same mods as @pinaygirlcassy too

toast 04-15-2016 01:28 PM

That is why I suggested the samples. Color balance depends on the camera, conditions and your monitor. Narrow it down to five you like and order swatches. Everything I've ever received from them was darker in real life than in the pics.
