Automatics... Can they be built?

Hey guys I just wanted to know if it's possible to build an autotransmission or upgrade any parts that will help handle more power. Or makes it easier on the car to coupe with the added power. I would like to boost it one day and wanted to make sure I took care of any and all components that aid in the cars ability to deal with the boost and not blow up lol. Any help or info is appreciated.

Thanks :D

Well you didnt have to waste your time (or my time) writing this post if you actually took the time and searched. Yes there are parts you can get. SSP is the company you should look into if I remember right.

SouthSidePerformance makes parts for the auto trans. Although I have yet to see anyone post about blowing up the Auto due to boost

I believe the forum lore is that the auto will easily take something like 400+ WHP before you start seeing any problems from the transmission. Basically.... your car is going to break in a bunch of other places prior to the automatic transmission if you want to take your forced induction adventure to that power level.

Totally Unsupported Opinion: SSP is for people that bought both the wrong car and the wrong transmission type. If you are spending thousands of dollars to be able to effectively launch your AT FRS at the drag strip, I just don't know what to say.

Don't get SouthSidePerformance confused with
NorthSidePerformance. They are poles apart.

Heaven forbid the man wants to have a technical conversation of his own. All you forum police truly deserve medals along with your protective helmets.
As stated SSP is who you want to look into, however, I don't really see the point of really going into it unless you are looking for crazy HP.

What did you say that was any different than the so-called "forum police?"

Not sure you are following me. I was referring to the people who bitch and moan every single time somebody asks a question instead of looking through 100 pages of a thread to find an answer.

Here's a simple, direct answer for you

The very first thing to do is install a thermostatic transmission fluid cooler. The fluid should also be changed with a compatible, fully synthetic, fluid. Then, boost the @#$%& out of it. The transmission has rubber and plastic parts which become deformed at temperatures above 200 degrees F. The transmission trouble light doesn't even come on until 260. By that time you might be needing a new transmission.
It will safely handle 400 HP, if it is kept cool, if it is running a quality, fully synthetic, fluid.

A guy in the UK had issues with high power and his boxes despite building them up. Have a read: http://www.gt86.org.uk/forums/topic/...covery/?page=1

Awesome thank you for all your help I will check in to everything you guys linked today. Its my dd and with boost I'm just trying to get 300 to 350. 350 being my end goal hopefully. Not 500 to 600 hp drag car lol. would be cool to get flex fuel on it just cause and do one run to see what the most power I can get for shits and giggles but that's about it. The kit I'm kinda set on is the full blow stage 1. They have a whole bunch of heat wrap option and turbo blankets ceramic coating and all that good stuff but do u guys recommend spending the extra money on it? As well as injectors and fuel pumps. Is it good to get every option with the kit or do I get wraps map sensors injectors somewhere else that's cheaper and better? also thank you ort895 appreciate it :) im new to the forum or forums in general that's why I just posted it instead of filtering through so many threads. To be honest I'm surprised actually it wasn't bad u guys are chill. I was expecting to get nothing but hate posts on how I messed up and should have gone with a manual and how I'm a disgrace for driving auto haha.
