OFT Firmware Changelog?
 

Is there a changelog of the firmware updates for the OFT (tablet updates, not updates to the tunes)? Once and a while, @Shiv@Openflash will announce a specific firmware release but I was wondering if there's a place to see what's new in all the other smaller releases.

A changelog is included in the zip file download of the OTS tunes.

This isn't for the tunes - it's for the OFT updates (tablet firmware). Things like when Shiv added the datalogging for steering angle, individual wheel speed, etc.

Ah, my brain parsed "firmware" as the tuning file.

I can see the confusion since they are both kinds of firmware - I updated the OP to be more specific. Thanks for catching the ambiguity.

I believe the firmware is the template file correct? It used to have a changelog when it had to be manually updated, but now that it is done through open-flash manager automatically it just does it without question

^^ Nope, the firmware is the actual firmware the tablet runs. The template is loaded after a firmware update sometimes to enable changes.

Then I believe the firmware is pushed by the tablet manufacturers not sure where to find the changelog if there is any. Regardless OFM pushes the new firmware if it exists as well.

OpenFlashManager updates the firmware on the tablet, not sure where to find the changelog though.

Yup, I know how it changes - I'm very curious though as to what the changes are. @Shiv@Openflash usually announces when there are major features like the tuning alerts and the ability to log data from the stability control sensors, but I am also curious about all those minor updates that the OFT is getting. Also, TuneBot, where are you???? *chuckle*

AFAIK

OFT is actually a Alientech powergate 3 device (hardware)

The OFT is a customised version.
The OFT guys have added the logging/tune alerts/driving monitoring etc either themselves

The standard powergate devices just flash tunes no logging or other fancy features.

So some updates for tablet come directly from alientech likely pushed out to all alientech powergate 3 devices.
Other updates are specific to OFT, these may be uploaded to alientech servers by oft guys not sure

Apparently the Template file is now auto updating and no manual update needed anymore

You need to use the specific Openflash manager for your vehicle type is BRZ/86, if you load up say the mazda version your oft will convert to a mazda oft :-)

Tunebot is likely some feature not used no info on it on alientech site either, if you keen email the alientech guys.

I am unaware of any alientech or oft changelog for the device updates.

If the template file is auto-updating now, can you (or anyone) explain why my OFT displays "Please update template file" when I try to use the datalogging feature on the OFT? Or explain how to correct?
