Wifi in a detached garage

Is it possible? If my detached garage is maybe 50-100 feet away from my place, can I get wifi from my home?

--The electricity in the garage is not shared with my unit
--There is not a direct line of sight from my unit to the garage
--There is no chance of a repeater, satellite, antenna or other exterior add on; everything must be indoors

What are my options? Is there something that can get me online in the garage?

I read that title wrong and had all sorts of tips for you. Then I realized it said wifi.

It may reach. I get wifi all over my 1/3 acre lot while mowing the yard. The listed range for 2.4Ghz wifi is 66 ft indoors and a bit further out doors.

Have you tested the modem router in the house at the closest spot to the garage? That's not a very long distance so any decent router should reach, only really being affected by brick walls slightly.

You can "daisy chain" routers. You may have to add one in the garage. This is what I did in mine. I run the new 802.11ac linksys. (2 of em)

This might be best way. You will lose some speed but unless your going professional video gaming won't matter.

i think i have an extra router. i'll see if i can pick up the signal with that from the garage.

we live in a dead spot, so i use wifi to make and receive calls/texts, so i want it for that when i am in the garage and to hop on the internet if i need to research something while working on a garage project.

look at http://www.engeniustech.com/ i use their equipment at work an at home with good success for range and power. lots of options to choose from based on above recommendations. range boosters, single unit, outdoor access points, bridges etc.
I use a single access point and get awesome signal in my garage which is at least 150 ft from the router in the house.

Those look cool. I was curious if just an antenna would work. It would have to be inside. Nothing can go outside my unit.

Just look for "directional" or "high gain" antennas. Google "cantenna." That should give you some ideas.

Everything on the Internet leads to porn eventually

A range booster and a second router should be the answer if there is one
