FT-86 Future Said to may include hybrid

I think its a case of crossed wires here personally. Maybe an MRS style hybrid in the future, but seriously doubt it for the 86.

I wouldn't get a hybrid. Too expensive to replace the parts on it.

the original concept (FT-HS) was a 400hp hybrid....I wouldn't shoot down a hybrid rumor so fast....nor would I overlook the performance capabilities without seeing it in action....

As long as it doesn't flop like a CRZ I think it's not that bad. Rumor r rumor

And how do you know a hybrid is not being considered as a spin off? FACT Toyota plan to release 15 hybrid/electric cars by 2015. What's to say one won't be based on the 2.0 boxer???

I HOPE toyota releases this as a hybrid. And as many other versions as possible...The more money they can make from this car the more they are likely to make more sports cars in the future...PERIOD

I only heard about making Lexus IS a hybrid.

This place would have been a dull place over the last year if we only talked about news which was fact!

Face it, it's still a concept at this stage and we hardly get anything official. If you don't like the thread move on. At least I don't keep banging on about scion etc in every thread like some do. :)

Again, you're stating you speculation. You don't have a proof. Yes, I do agree, I wish that this car won't come out hybrid or Scion... but that's just my opinion and not a fact.

I wouldn't be shocked if there was a hybrid option, but wouldn't a battery pack add a decent amount of weight?

I think today is recycle day for stale rumors from last year.
