Anyone going electric?

I have no desire for an engine swap, but after watching this video I didn't know if anyone has done, is considering, or is the process of completing an electric engine swap.

My friend swapped his 1997 Accord to full electric. It is a MAJOR undertaking. My advice is Don't!

I'm a fan of electic cars. I rode in a Tesla and the platform is great for performance and economy. But I wouldnt choose it for myself because the sound of the engine is apart of the experience as well as the rumble and smell.

But some people have deep pockets for 2jz swaps and LS swaps. Not everyone here has a budget to their build. Just curious if anyone is considering an electric build. Im sure in time these will be happening more and more.

I would like to do an electric car, but not the BRZ. I'm thinking Cappuccino.

Considering that the major players with billions of dollars of resources at their disposal are just now starting to get it right I have my doubts that Joes can do much in his garage. I do however have a bunch of old worn out forklifts at my disposal if anybody wants to give it a shot!

You say that but if a kid like Rimac could develop something at 19 then I'm sure others could. There are many small companies doing their own version of electric conversations.

The video I posted is a current project from a guy who teamed up with the creator of the White Zombie. I'm sure they are not operating on a billion dollar budget.

No they are not but they are basing their work on those that did have a massive budget. These home done swaps are far from refined or even practical still. I am sure they will eventually reach a point where they will be but they are no where near yet. As I stated the big boys are just starting to get things where they have a real world use.

Yea i was just thinking for the track or dragging. Seems like a bunch of swap ideas are already all about track/drag/gutted interiors especially if they are losing a lot of the accesories through their swap.

What would be cool would be a parallel system with electric motors on the corners tied into the throttle. More of a Hybrid/KERS type system. Make AWD and eliminate torque dip, plus you'd be driving a hybrid (haha).

Would still be a huge undertaking, but less so than full electric. Definitely unique still.
