Tire advice please.
Want to put a 225s on stock rim. Will this create any handling differences? Should I just put them on the rear and leave the 215s on the front. Only suspension upgrade to be strut tower brace in front. Looking for better traction. Plan to go catless header, TRD air box, ecutec tuner, and custom tune. Want to keep mostly stock.

Yes it will handle better......but....... Depends which tire you get. Cheap Walmart tires will handle like crap. If you pay more then $120 for MPSS you got suckered. I know a lot of fools that love to get suckered by the dealer/tire guy because it's "brand" it came from factory and slightly better.
I would go 225 all around. Saves you the trouble down the road when you need to rotate them. |
Tire advice please.
Stay 215 on stock rim if you care about feel. 225/45/17 is luxury sport feel with a good chunk of info delayed.
Go 225/40/18 if you want. Ps, if you are just putting 225 in the rear go for it. Quite a bit ppl on Asian forum run that despite what ppl will tell you here. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

And what shitty tires are you running? 225/40/18? Your asking the dude to buy new wheels? Dafuck.?? What it really comes down to is tire choice. Cheap all seasons will handle like crap regardless of width. For "better" handling always go for performance summer tires. Simple as that. The reason why everyone says to keep the same size all around is for tire rotation. This is helpful when you have directional tires. As most all performance tires are directional. But you could have 225 in the rear. Nothing wrong with that. You'll just end up buying a new pair once one side is worn down or pay a few $$ to get your tires flipped to the other wheel at a tire shop. That's if you have directional tires. I been down that road many times. My MR2 has staggered wheels so I speak from experience. |

I ran Nitto Invos in 225 on OEM rims they are 'ight. If you want grip get Nitto NT01's those are what I am running this summer. Also Sidewall stiffness will make the biggest difference on feel so keep that in mind after you go look at the NT01's are realise those are too much tire for you car so you go pick other ones hahahaha!
