Put deposit down yesterday. Extra for an alarm?

Hey all.

I finally put a deposit down yesterday for a white GTS manual. After signing the contract I was asked if I would like extras like tinting... Paint protection... Reverse sensors... Alarm... .... Wait...???

I didn't know it didn't come with an alarm? Apparently its just an immobiliser. They want $595 extra for this.

Any one else find this?

I wanted everything factory and didn't want to have to install aftermarket.

Alarm is not factory option so it's either dealer fitted or aftermarket.

Unfortunately not - apparently they need to submit the order with the stock controller which is only done once a month for all dealerships... etc before they know when it will be built/delivered.

Not sure if once a month is correct, best to ask @newft86 (Andrew) he is my dealer representative, and I'm sure would be happy to clarify.

Sounds a bit odd i'll agree. When we accept an order from a client on an 86 we submit the order ASAP and receive delivery advice straight back. Unless your salesperson meant that they receive delivery updates once per month or possibly referring to the close of orders in each month before they swap over to the next forward order month. but it does seem a little odd.

I concur with our esteemed colleague above, Alarms are not factory standard on the 86.

Sounds like your particular sales person doesn't fully understand the process and has made up his own version of how it works.

Like Andrew's dealership we submit orders as they come in; not on a monthly basis. We have only received build dates and therefore delivery dates for half of our customer orders so far. The next few weeks should shed some light on where we stand with build allocations.
