Too loud or not loud?

Okay gents, I've been getting reccomendations from a lot of people about the Invidia N1 exhaust, and Tomei Expreme UEL header combo. My question is, anyone with this set up... how loud is it? I want a deep tone but not so loud that it annoys the entire neighborhood. Tried searching and can only find youtube vids, which I can't access at work. No one has actually described it. Thanks y'all

It's pretty loud and droney.

It will wake the F*cking dead.

That about sufficiently descriptive?

Is it at least a GOOD loud, or crappy sound? @jawn just said it's droney. Why do so many people, even here on the forum, recommend it then?

Because it's cheap and of reasonably good build quality. I just wouldn't run it with any other exhaust mods.

I have an Invidia N1 its probably one of the loudest i have heard on a twin.

Personally i love it, really enjoy hearing the car. None of my neighbor complain, but i live in an "eclectic" area.

Does it have a good tone to it, or sound like one of those loud fartcan ricer cars? Because I've seen good and bad reviews about the tone lol

No wont sound like a Honda, Is has a good deep tone and UEL headers with really set off the deeper throaty rumble sound.

Don't get me wrong its loud, and gets a bit droney at highway speed.
But its not a "rice" sound.

It's a good loud, with one exception.

When you get your tune, which you will need, make sure they zero out the engine cold start ignition timing, and MAF offset, and disable code P050b, in addition to the secondary o2 sensor code P2096. (This will prevent the emissions-related check engine lights associated with your mods.)

This is why all the cold start videos sound like nails in a coffee can for the first minute.

Yours will sound like nails in a coffee can for the first minute after a cold start if you don't correct the cold start profile. You will hate it, trust me.

There's no harm in it. The profile exists for the purpose of quickly warming up the primary catalytic converter, which you will not have after replacing the stock header. It just creates post-combustion in the exhaust to drive up cold-start EGT. This is because the cat does not do it's job until it reaches light-off temperature.

The secondary cat, located in the front pipe, will tame the smell and eliminate rasp. This is a good thing.

If your tuner isn't a dumb f*ck, he will know what I am talking about. If he doesn't, run like hell.

If you end up replacing the front pipe sometime later, you will be eliminating a cat and a resonator. If you don't do something about that, you will hate the f*ck out of how it sounds.

I went unresonated perrin header back and revved side by side with someone who had the N1 and theirs sounds quieter, deeper, more robust while mine sounds louder and more annoying (in contrast). I'd imagine adding a header would make it potentially too loud for the N1 unless you keep the front pipe cat

Most likely gonna go with the Q300 and Tomei UEL

what most people dont know is to kill the cold start in the mornings, just put your car in reverse back up a few and go in 1st gear. it literally cuts off the cold start.

Doing this kills the cold start before starting? Your instructions kills the loud after the engine has already started.
