Bump. I'd like to see some dampers made for the hood too.

Waiting on someone in the Michigan area to work with a company to get these made...

Redline tuning will have a set sometime soon. They used my frs for the test car and they are in the process of having custom brackets made so it will be a complete bolt on kit......not drilling. It will be a dual shock kit as well. Looked awesome when they mocked it up. Hopefully they will have some more info soon on a ETA and I'll pass it along to everyone.

Don't understand why they weren't standard. Can't be that heavy.

Isn't the hood aluminum? A bad damper could easily end up with a bent hood when trying to close it.

Another reason is that hood dampeners don't open the hood as far as a prop rod. Toyota and FHI made it a point to have 2 settings for the hood for those who need to get under it. Also, Subarus aren't known for having hood struts. I don't think any FHI car has one from the factory.

The hood will open to its full standard height as it sits on the hood prop.

As soon as I hear from them to come in for the final test fit I will let everyone know.

Typically for light hoods, the dampers that come are slow-expanding dampers so they don't slam open the hood upon opening it up.

My buddy's GTR had dampers that did exactly that.
