It's okay, i mean they didn't ruin it, just refreshed it. I still prefer the 2008-2010 model the best. Just loved that front end :)
|
the interior looks too luxurious for a gtr i think.
maybe it's that colour though would still take one! |
I have never been a fan of the R35's interior. Looks dated IMO.
|
Love the new front end. Can't unsee Jabba the Hut in the seats.
|
the steering wheel is orange. comical
|
that interior looks horrible, is Nissan trying to pass this car off as a luxury car?
|
That interior is so brown... I do hope it comes in black, I understand they wanted to make it more luxurious and refined but just wrapping everything in leather everything is not the answer.
|
The Toyota/Lexus spindle grill/predator-maw looks better and better the more I see the competition...

I like that they mounted the paddles to the wheel, rather than the column.
That was always funky to me during daily commuting going through an intersection. Or tracking out onto a straight at the track, and you just barely reach the top/bottom of the paddle. |

Engine being built. Pretty cool to watch. Also found it incredibly relaxing, too...? |
Ugly for me. Prefer 350z.
|
Did the new Lexus LC pressured Nissan to go upscale with the new GTR?
|
They got the colour right!!!!!!!
|
You're not objective, hot lava guy. :D

Two things made me wonder though. The plaque says hand built by that guy but I saw 3? 4? different guys doing the assembly. Also, after the dyno run that person appeared to be listening to the engine cool down but he was wearing ear plugs. |

I also noticed like 4 different guys working on it. Maybe it's "hand built" under their supervisor/ manager? During the dyno run, it was cool to see the turbo get red hot. As for the guy listening to the engine, I believe he was wearing an ear plug on the opposite side to block out other noises? I read they were listening for knock or whatever. |
Got some additional info and pics on the car.
It talks about how now there will be an additional trim level- Pure - added to the lineup. So, there will be the GTR Pure, GTR Premium, and GTR Track. Then a GTR Nismo to follow later on. Personally, I really like it. The interior looks so much better to me when it's in a normal color. Also, the exterior looks really good in different colors too. I feel like the Gray really suits the car well. Looks more modern and elegant. http://car.watch.impress.co.jp/img/c...751/342/59.jpg http://car.watch.impress.co.jp/img/c...751/342/91.jpg http://i1108.photobucket.com/albums/...psnb2cru1w.jpg http://car.watch.impress.co.jp/img/c...751/342/58.jpg http://car.watch.impress.co.jp/img/c...751/342/71.jpg http://i1108.photobucket.com/albums/...psutx639bi.jpg |
Still looks like a GTR...

Much like the new BRZ still looks like a BRZ, and the new 86 still looks like an FRS... |

Some pretty nice pictures in here. I'm curious to see what journalists will think once they get their hands on them. |
As a former GTR owner most of the community is mixed about it. The new front bumper is getting alot of love, but the rest of the car is a bit too little too late.
The car is getting ancient now. Its over 10 years old and pretty much the same. Sure they revised the suspension and turned up the boost a bit for marketing numbers (look more HP this year!) and updated the interior but its been the same car. A 2009 and 2015 GTR run pretty much the same after doing the basic bolt ons. In fact the newer 2015/2016 GTRs are slower than the 2012-2014 cars because so many complained about the harsh ride that they made the suspension more comfy and soft. If you want a GTR now the 2012's are a great buy. You can get a nice one for low 60s. otherwise I would wait for the 2020 R36. Im guessing they are going to ask 100k+ for the 2017 which is too much imo. |

I wasn't sure about the front end until I saw speedhunter's photo's of it dressed in blue. Sexy!
Attachment 135019 http://www.speedhunters.com/2016/04/...-at-nissan-hq/ I'm curious if the Nismo/top trim is getting changed since the base seems to be using the rear aero from the old version. Like most I feel it is a bit too little of a difference. However the next/future GT-R concept of the completely new one in development seems so left field that I still love the current gen more. |

We'll see what ends up happening, but I am really liking this new update. It's definitely on my list of cars to choose from when I decide to part ways with my STI. I'm actually hoping that Subaru does something good with the STI in the near future. A turbo hybrid with a DCT would be killer, as it would be realistic to own for a long period of time, especially when gas starts getting really expensive. |
