Summer Tire Options

Anyone have any opions on good summer tires for stock wheels. Right now I am looking at getting the Dunlop DirezzaZII or perhaps the Direzza DZ102. Any other option worth looking at the $150 per range? My BRZ is my Daily so I'm not looking for anything too crazy or something that will wear after only a year. Thanks for looking.

www.tirerack.com you can compare tires on there.

z2's are 200 tread wear. Won't last much longer than a year.

Other popular choices for more life are hakook v12, continental dw, and bfg sport comp 2.

I like the Bridgestone S-04s a lot.

how many miles do you need to get out of them? obviously driving style plays a huge role, but still...

I love my Michelin Pilot Super Sports. It'a also the tire of choice on the BRZ tS and TRD 86.

I wouldn't say I have a end goal in mind mile wise. I only drive about 6000 miles a year.

I love my Pilot Super Sports too. Favorite purchase I made for the car hands down.

I have had very good luck with Advan AD08
Both dry and wet are very good for extreme performance
I have used them both on the track and street
Only issue was on a very hot day at mid Ohio when they got too hot (100F ambient) rubber got soft

Great tire. Slightly above his price range.

Just got done with a set of bfg sport-comp2 and I'm gonna pick up another set. Wore nicely (40k w/rotations) has really stiff sidewalls, and sticky. Well sticky for a street tire. I've also heard it has great wet traction but I never got caught in enough water to test it. I paid about $85~ per corner and have no qualms buying another set.

The MPSS are hard to beat for the price. You can get them at DT for $135 a tire in 215 or 225 width. And there is a $70 rebate right now.

Thanks for all the great info. How will the change in the width affect with the stock wheel?

Personally, I wouldn't bother with going 225 on a 7" wheel. It may be fine with the Pilot Super Sports or the ZII Star Specs (tires with very stiff sidewalls), but with a softer sidewall tire, it may not feel quite as precise as a correctly-sized tire.

I like my continental dw not sure they make them small enough for the stock wheels though.
