Then the FT86 isnt for you as its been stated many times to be a entry level sports car

if thats what you want then wait for the new IS since it will be riding off a stretched platform and being a Lexus will have a good/upscale interior and competitive straight line performance in addition to great looks and fantastic handling but deff not at the entry sports car price

The difference is the GTR has a history and people know what that car is all about. You're taking general statements (and lip service) made by corporate execs/engineers about a brand new car and interpreting them to mean what you want. Just because the AE-86 is the inspiration for this new car doesn't mean it's going to be a modern day clone.

Well, when you say it's inspired by something, you usually don't go and make the opposite.

The funny thing is, HE feels like a troll.

The even funnier thing is that this car is being produced on a Global scale, with more than the American market in mind (I mean, it has to at least pander to the fans in Japan, right?). The even even funnier thing is...The U.S.'s track record with getting turbo variants of Japanese entry-level sports cars is pretty....uh.....lacking.

Even IF there's a turbo version in Japan, or UK, or Australia, that certainly doesn't mean we'll be getting it. Infact I'd be highly skeptical until it was confirmed.

Yes, i'm aware of that, but just because they provide a turbo/supercharger doesn't mean that the engine was designed to handle it. After a while you will start running into issues.

They don't really need to pander to the Japanese market as of yesterday

This is true, and so sad. It's amazing how some online forum people can be so cold about a tragedy like this (not our forum members though). I was checking NASOIC and some people were still cracking jokes and saying that their only concern was for the cars coming out of Japan... :sigh:

No offense to active NASOIC members, but when NASOIC wasn't heartless. From Day one I've been member there, they're heartless. Not all, but most.

Could someone fill me in on what NASOIC is? I'm too lazy to go to Google.
