Automatic Drivers
So you drive an auto FRS/BRZ... why did you choose automatic over manual and how much do you actually drive the car in auto vs manual/paddle shift. Especially if you have a loud exhaust do you still drive in auto lol??

stock exhaust
i live in nyc b2b traffic morning(6:30 am to 11 am) and from 2pm-7:30 pm im on the road every day all day... i drive in manual for b2b traffic for engine brake when were at crawling speeds and dont wana keep tapping my brakes( i leave 2 car distance in front as well) manual mode going downhill holding gear(3-4) taking corners i downshift into optimum rpms for the corner :D |

I got an automatic brz because it's slower than the manual. Real sports cars are automatic.

2) This auto is very fast for something with a torque converter, the shifts are instant from the second you hit a paddle. 3) I had a berk muffler dual tip muffler delete, that's one of the loudest axle-backs you can buy, because THERE IS NO MUFFLER  I would leave it in manual quite a bit, but when I'm just cruising along in traffic, or if I'm just tired it's in auto mode |
I enjoyed multiple test drives of both transmissions, but went with automatic as I found it to be one of the most impressive and fun sporty autos I've experienced and I also liked the greater versatility it offered as a sole car / daily driver (NJ/NYC traffic, occasional multiple drivers, etc.).
I also really enjoy the paddle shifter experience and manually shift most of the time unless I'm on long highway drives or stuck in traffic. Currently have stock exhaust but looking to upgrade soon :) |

EDIT: auto or manual your car is still a brz/frs not a V8 mustang so dont include speed in this |

Ever since installing the catback in September, I've been driving in manual mode. Maybe 10% of that time, I've put the car in Camry mode. Downshifts are just so.... eargasmic!
