Why do people always act surprised when they see racism? It's 2011 sure...but it aint dead.

Wow. I will probably get flamed for this, but I feel bad for the Muslim parents who have to explain this stuff to their kids after this. And for the kids of the protestors... I mean the fundraiser was to help women's shelters and for hungry people IN THE USA. Glad I am in Canada.

And Don't get me wrong, I dont hate americans, I hate the fact that your country is run by the media which is run to profit a few people. This means that such a large percentage of the population is fairly ignorant to everything that's happening outside your borders. It's like that here in oz as well, so don't worry your not alone. That's why so many people are ignorant and apparently it follows in to he congress..

Meh, reason why I won't travel outside of California unless theres some sort of an asian community somewhere. I'm not trying to hate on America, but I just can't stand some of the narrow-mindedness you get from the citizens.

Some cities here are fine with it, but you always in any country will get those handful of people who still live in the past. lol

I love that. When I used to live in Hawaii, I got that several time. I always reply back. "Yes, and less than 5,000 was killed or wounded. How about Atomic bombing huh? You, Americans killed/wounded 90,000~166,000 in Hiroshima alone? Who's disgraceful race now?" 90% of the time, they reply back "Because you guys attacked first!" Really? How old are we? In kindergarten?

Either way War is pass. Don't see any hating in US or Japan gonna solve anything anyways.

Yeah, sad but yes we still have racism going on in US. Not only racism, but sexism, & other. iirc isn't one of the philosopher said "Men fear other men that is different from them." or something like that. This is not any excuse, but it's somewhat of nature of men to "fear" other men when they don't "look" or "speak" different from them. Just some people go way overboard. Don't get me wrong, I don't agree w all those people were doing on the vid. Just saying some people go way overboard.

As diverse as Southern California is, I see bits and pieces of racism here and it's sad to say the least but nothing as extreme as the video posted!

I'm asian-American too (filipino/spanish) and growing up here in San Diego, it seems as though the white people were the minority! They couldn't afford to be racist b/c they'll end up getting their ass kicked! :respekt::bellyroll:

actually i went to college in the midwest (no asian community) and have met americans of different colors from all over the country and you'd be surprised at how many friendly people there are all over! i'm full japanese and thought i'd be hated on as well especially by people from the south, but usually southern hospitality trumps even racism. sure there were always those few who'd hate (they seemed more shy and timid than out right hatred tho) but the nice friendly ones outnumbered the haters. they were in fact a lot more friendly than CA people!

edit: as far as the war goes. yes we bombed pearl harbor, and many people who were mostly military personnel died. the attacks on hiroshima, nagasaki, and the firebombing of tokyo killed over ten times more, and they were mostly civillian. meanwhile, american citizens who had japanese ancestry were horded into concentration camps in the US. but we aren't just victims, we committed many atrocities during the war as well, which shamefully we japanese try to whitewash. forgive and ask for forgiveness, and move on with life is the best thing one can do!
