Help with Valenti alignment

Hi! I need a little help with the Valenti install, if I'm not posting on the right place then please guide me, I'm still a little new here.

So, through steps on the internet, I've managed to get my Valenti (orignal) installed. However, I feel like I'm not inserting them right, since there's a small gap on the far side and I can try to push it in a little from the outside.

This is what it looks like:

Have I done something wrong? How can I fix this?

Thanks!

Will check mine tomorrow morning. There's nothing between the tails and the body of the car right?
Also, authentic Valenti? There are fake ones that look VERY very similar on eBay and other sites.

*Edit*

Looked through pics of my car and don't see a similar gap. Will confirm tomorrow morning.

Yeah, got it through a group buy here recently. No one else has reported the same problem. I have this on both sides of the car, not sure what I did wrong...

Nothing between either. Took the old lights out and put new ones in.

Did you tighten the nuts down all the way?

I'll try that again tonight - mine came with 8mm gaskets and they were already kinda pushing through, so I wasn't sure I'd already tightened enough. My left side has less of a gap and I think I tightened it more than the right, so you might be right. Thanks!

The same thing happened to me. I just had to tighten them down all the way and it worked.

Yeah. Go bacon instead.

Kidding, but really, if worse comes to worse, remove the gasket?
If anything the gasket is to prevent water leak on older models (someone correct me if I'm wrong please), which can also be prevented using waterproof putty, which I used.

lol @HachiRo

Also, I know sometimes the lights/gaskets get bound up a bit, if you will, on the bolts, causing it to not seat as in its spot.

Loosen all the nuts. Push in a little on the light until you get it seated properly. Then hand tighten the outside and then the inside nuts. The newer versions have a thicker gasket. Once you get it aligned, then go ahead and tighten in a diagonal pattern. I usually start with the outside bottom, then inside top, and so forth.

I had problems with the sections of the LED's stop working on the early production runs. So, I've re-installed them a number of times.

Thank you to everyone who helped! It ended up being a problem with nuts not being tightened enough. The tip to push in and hand tighten first also really helped. Lights look great, no awkward big gap anymore! :)

Best way is push the tail light in with your hand and then screw in the nuts
