Harrop Supercharger

Thought I should start a thread on this for any Aussie uses.

Had an email come though just before about their emissions approval

"Harrop Engineering is excited to announce that our market leading TVS1320 Supercharger Kit for Toyota 86 and Subaru BRZ platform has passed IM240 drive cycle emission's test, and therefore now has certification for both manual and automatic transmission variants. This is an achievement we are extremely proud of at Harrop and represents our commitment to technical excellence in automotive performance in both design & manufacturing"

Pricing is updated too
Tuner Kit (RRP) - $6985 incl GST
Complete Kit with EcuTek Calibration - $7975 incl GST
(For any American's that have stumbled in here, that is Aussie dollars..)

Wonder if that's with both factory cats fitted and OEM headers?

I too got that same email. Dyno looks interesting although no figures below 2500rpm & they passed EPA using a stock header . . . . see attached dyno chart.

I wish I had the moula to splurge on this

Looks so much better in US dollars :(

No idea if it will be the same as CARB, Not sure how similar the testing is, of if they are similar if CARB would pass it.
I guess it would be a pretty smart move for them to get it CARB tested if they want to move a few in the states!

It is my hope that this kit becomes more mainstream and in direct competition with edelbrock's SC. The Harrop kit is much more elegant. If it passes tests over there I see no reason why it wouldn't over here.

Looking @ that graph again the power curve is virtually flat & torque also looks really good. The flat spot is right about there b/w 2000-4000rpm so harrops sc & tune has nipped that right in the bud. Could you imagine this on E85? Nice :burnrubber:

Really interested to see what the results would be running an aftermarket header like the Tomei UEL or EL.

And how one could get the car engineered and legal with the kit plus tuning and header.

Man! I'm so glad I found this thread! I'm going FI this year and after a lot of research, have narrowed it down to Edelbrock. Until I saw this.

Any reason why yours might be better or equal to the more mainstream Edelbrock? Their support, from my understanding, is great, so I'm curious to see what kinf of support you guys will give to us US users!

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Guys,

The car cannot be engineered in Australia with engine/exhaust mods, as it wont pass emissions tests for Noise.

On our demo 86, is running the HKS Stroker, Ace Headers, and HKS Cat Back on e85 making about 282RWKW

Hope that helps.

Andrew.

Hi There,

The Harrop TVS1320 is a very neat Kit. Has the Edelbrock Blower Passed its CARB Testing in USA? We've had our car at SEMA Garage for testing for a while and the approval process does take a long time, but its very exciting to see the progress here in Australia with our local emissions tests.

We've been selling quite a few kits to the USA, and some dealers are starting to come online. Mike at Moto-East comes to mind, and have been great to deal with!

From a price perspective the prices are very similar.

regards

Andrew.
