why does white out cost extra??

How the the white paint different from other color?
How does it justify the cost?

I believe the pearlescent qualities of the color require an extra step in the painting process. That's why it costs a little more.

I think it's a pearlescent paint if I'm not mistaken, higher cost and most steps in the paiinting process. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong...

Its the same color in the BRZ right? Subaru does not charge extra for it...

Because Toyota charges extra for pearl white paint on other models. If they didn't do it here, people would wonder why it costs $220 extra for pearl white on a Prius, but not an FR-S.

I don't think the paint costs any more. From my experience painting cars, red is far and away the most expensive color you can paint a car. I paid $500 for a gallon of Viper red and only about $200 for pearl yellow even though it was three stage and needed an extra step and color.
