OFT cannot read ECU anymore. HELP!!

Hey guys, I recently got an OFT and it has worked really well, but as of today I switched to e85 and tried to flash it to a stg 2 tune, my tablet can no longer write to the ECU. I suspect it is because I disconnected the battery to install a perrin inlet hose right before I filled the tank with e85 which probably messed with the ECU and the tune.

Now I am really concerned because I cannot flash it to the correct tune and I am running e85 in the tank. I cannot put it back to stock either. When I plug the tablet into my computer it reads the VIN and everything else, but when I plug it into the ECU it cannot read it at all.

Should I just continue driving around and try to reflash in a couple of days?

I've contacted Shiv via e-mail but it is the weekend so I am not expecting a reply till tuesday or so.

I might be overreacting but I am slightly freaking out because this is a new car.

Any help is appreciated

Petrol tune with E85 in tank shouldn't damage anything. You just won't be getting extra power. It's other way around you should be careful, as with E85 tune your timings are advanced way more then what may work well on petrol.

churchx,

I was driving it around a bit to see if anything was wrong but it seemed fine. luckily I did not have this issue with an e85 tune with petrol gas.

Still having no luck with the ECU not being readable though. Hopefully someone can answer my question.

disconnecting battery will not effect a tune already flashed into ecu.

As long as you did not disconnect battery during flash it likely ecu is fine.

I suspect its just a cable or odb port problem.

If car starts and runs ecu is fine.

ensure cable it plugged all the way into obd port and also into oft.

see if oft diagnostics will work or ECU info

try putting forward or backward pressure on obd connect plug.

sounds like is a connector issue

thank you for the reply Steve,

The car is running but when I try to run diagnostics or ECU info it says operation failed or shows nothing in the ECU info.

The OFT cable looks good, so you think it is the port itself? I will try tomorrow morning

yes likely obd port

check none of the pins bent or sometimes the pins push backwards out of socket in car.
assume power is getting to oft ie it lights up etc

did you ever figure out if it was the obd2 port
