Konig Hypergram?

Looking into a new set of wheels for my BRZ and came across the Konig Hypergram. Has anyone had any experience with these, or seen them first hand?

I would be looking at a 17x8 or 17x9.

I doubt anyone will have a lot of experience with them, because they literally just came out like a month ago.

carczar_84 03-10-2016 11:43 AM

I kind of figured as much since they are so new.

They caught my eye because of the offsets available. It is available is a 17x8 and 17x9 +40 which I thought would be good with stock struts up front?

The weights look good too, at 16.3lbs and 17.5lbs.

Yeah, either size should be okay with stock fronts, depending on how big your tires are. Konig makes decent wheels.

carczar_84 03-10-2016 12:38 PM

I'm leaning toward the 17x9 with a 245/40R17 tire, probably a RS-3

Metabrz 03-10-2016 11:39 PM

Hmmm not bad

carczar_84 03-14-2016 12:37 PM

What's the general consensus on stock strut clearance for a +40 offset? if +42 wheels clear (they do right?), these should be fine. I would be using crash bolts too.

Depends on what tire you use.

Depends on how much camber you plan on running.

+42 has a possibility of clearing, some people have to run 3mm spacers.

18×8.5 5X100 +38 17.41 lbs. Nice! Sadly these came out after my purchase.

Interestingly, they are slightly lighter than the 17x9 @ 17.49lbs.

Sonic Motor 03-15-2016 07:27 PM

Spoke to Konig this morning actually, and they said about 30 days till these are in stock, and ready to rock.

BoxerFour 04-07-2016 02:09 PM

Just ordered a set in 17x8 for my track setup. Lightweight and Rotary Forged FTW!

I want them but it's really my regret in getting staggered wheels with all seasons. and while they are still functional on the street and not really sellable with some curb rash I feel stuck :brokenheart:

There are places that can repair curb wheels. Maybe you have them repaired and sell them.

Wow. I am digging the Hypergram in gray. The look, weight, price, and offset all are great. Now I just need to be patient until they're in stock.

Any pictures of the profile of the rims themselves? Curious to see how they have the spokes set up with that offset whether they convex or concave other than the dip for the lug seating.

I've received the wheels with the tires already mounted on so I don't have a rim only picture.

The spokes themselves are convex, but they do not poke out of the wheel profile, if that helps you visualize.

If you've got a specific picture in mind, give me an example and I'll try to take it for you!

Konig Hypergram F 17 R 18

4 Attachment(s)
installed konig wheels yesterday.

Front 17x9J ET40 245-40-17 camber -2

Rear 18x8.5J ET38 255-35-18 camber -1.5

lowered with bilstein B14.

deejaylew 09-23-2016 12:35 PM

Seeing the hypergrams for the first time today. It looks like Konig took a big step forward with this wheel, lightweight and better manufacturing process for improved durability and a good design too. Nice.

Hmm looks like they have decent BBK clearance. They're a strong contender for a set of good lightweight 17x9s if/when I go that route for a separate set of track wheels.

I'll try to get some more pictures of them today if I can. It needs a bath pretty bad the wheels are dirty after 3 hours of driving and a full day of autocross.

I can tell you that they're awesome wheels so far. No problems with them at all and they look outstanding. I had one that took a bit more than usual to balance out but that could have been the tire too.

sirbobbinhood 04-26-2017 11:35 PM

Wheel pics

@swarb Finally delivering on those pictures I promised. Pic heavy as you would expect.

These are 17x9 bronze wheels. I have some pretty aggressive camber because racekar.

^^We met at PIR a few weeks ago.

I have the bronze ones, too:

I think I'm going to buy the grey ones for next next set, but I'm curious how close the konig grey is too the factory grey (i'm hoping it's different enough that it doesn't look colormatched....)

e1_griego 04-27-2017 03:11 AM

I don't think I have any stationary pics. A few more from events, but nothing great:

Do you have a print out that I could use to check the clearance? If you can find something for me I'll pull a wheel and check.

Reviving an old thread here but did you need hubcentric rings to mount these? Or was the centre bore a perfect fit?
