Road trip
Anyone have any ideas on a long road trip in California/maybe neighboring states that's doable in March? Something that isn't Highway 1 preferably. :( I know its a tall order but i'm running out of ideas.

Still a little too vague, need more specifics to make a recommendation. How long of a trip? How much time do you have? Why March? Why not hwy 1?
You can always head north to OR and WA more in-land via I5 and hit places like Lassen, Burney falls and Crater lake. Or you can head east and go Yosemite and keep going through NV and even UT. :iono: |
3 days total lol, i'm willing to drive like mad in order to see some new places. My worries about heading outside of california is snow. I'm on summer tires and i've only been driving manual for a few months so going anywhere where it may snow has me nervous.

Stay in Cali o.o go for small mountain roads everywhere.

Yosemite?

a hot lap around the valley would be pretty awesome. Yosemite is something everyone should experience.
near ash mountain and three rivers, there is a mountain road that goes to mineral king. http://www.nps.gov/seki/planyourvisit/mkdayhikesum.htm |

It's fine but I recommend you getting snow tires or at least chains. You never know when a road gets iced up or snows in completely. I just drove to WY last month and hit about 10 miles of sheet ice in the middle of Nevada, it happens, better be safe than sorry.

So it sounds like we're heading up to yosemite by highway 140 and staying outside of the park. We'll be entering by either our cars if the roads are clear but if not we'll use the shuttle system to go around.
