Plug and Play Lighting Question

I am on a mission and appreciate the info everyone provides.

As I've said in other threads, I am rebuilding an RS 1.0 and on a tight timeline. Looking for lighting suggestions this time. Have the factory Xenon setup in this car. It needs both headlights and one taillight (likely get both).
  • Are there any true plug and play aftermarket replacements for these cars with Xenon? I like the Spyder ones from my research.
  • Are there any horror stories with this replacement to A/M? My industry tends to stay away from that stuff for quality reasons.
  • Can anything be done with that lower light center light to get it to match the aftermarket tail lights after the change?
  • Who is a great vendor to approach for this stuff?
I am trying to have a little fun fixing this thing back up with light modifications as I go to save some cost and make it more appealing.

Dont do that. If it is a RS 1.0 then use the factory LED headlights. Aftermarket units will not have the quality that the OEM headlights offer. You need these. You can get them with equipped with ballasts and HID bulbs from Toyota. It will be plug and play with your car.

I second this. Stick with factory for the headlights. Spyder has horrible light projection. As far as tail lights, slap some valentis on and call it a day

I agree on the quality. Even at cost, those lights are just ridiculous in price. Toyota sure likes their stuff.

It's an RS 1.0 with minor damage.

At the very least, get the OEM RS 1 headlight. That way the LED DRL will be better quality. You can get the HID bulbs and ballasts (if your car's ballasts we're damaged) from the Retrofit Source. The Morimoto products are of quality.

Thanks for the input. Going to go OEM on this car for the quality and ease of it all.

What's the difficulty of retro-fitting these OEM lights to a non-1.0 car?

i also had the same question as above. i have a standard 2015 frs. if i were to find a wrecked yuzu yellow rs 1.0 frs and managed to grab both headlights, would they be plug and play?

or what additional work or parts would be necessary? appreciate the info!

thanks in advance!
