TRD Springs installation.

I've called multiple shops to check on the prices of installing the TRD springs, all I'm getting is $600-800, the lowest I got was 350 w/o alignment, but that shop looks shady. Is 600-800 normal prices or do you guys think I can find someone to do it for a lower price? I can't DIY because I'm not experienced and donesn't wanna mess up my car.

PS: I'm in the BAY area.

Its a easy DIY you just need to rent a spring compressor from a part store.

otherwise be prepared to pay at least 2 hours labor =$280 here + $140 for alignment = $420. Thats if its only a 2 hour book job.

I think most places charge 0.75-1 hour per corner, but a shop going by actual time could be way less. Assuming nothing is seized or needing to be cut off it should be 0.5 hours per corner max.

Check with Neal @The Racers Line. He is local and knows our cars well. I don't think he does alignment, but he can probably point you in the right direction.

$600-$800 is ridiculous. Might as well get coils at that price range. $200 tops.

Spring compressors are quite cheap. I would invest in them and do the job yourself then just worry about getting an alignment after the fact. It is a really easy job.

Toyota quoted me $1200 installed including the springs at $240 from their parts department.

No spring compressor needed

Just followed this guide along with the other DIY linked within and it was completely painless. You'll feel silly you contemplated giving someone money to do it.

This is what I did for someone else's car but I still have spring compressors because they're $40 so meh.

They're great to have when you need them, that's for sure. It would just be a waste of time on this particular vehicle. Out of the 2 or 3 other cars I've lowered this was just so straight forward. The forum members helping each other out really pays off.

LA is an anomaly when it comes to living in a populated expensive areas and auto-mechanic labor rates. Where OP is I wouldn't be surprised if average labor rates have climbed to $150/hour.

Bill a 3 hour job, $150/hour, $200 for an alignment, boom $600 spring install.

I'm curious to hear what Racer's Line would charge, good reputation for being honest and it's an easy install on this car, aside from a jack and jackstands it can all be done with simple hand tools and if no adjustment components are installed or disturbed an alignment is unnecessary.

Just do it yourself. Seriously, I had never done any sort of suspension work when I installed my TRD springs. The instructions with them are crystal clear and the DIY page helps even more.

yeah like others mentioned. do DIY.
start early in morning and take your time just in case you get stuck, you have time to finish it.

i one time started at 3:00pm on motor mounts and couldnt finish it because outside was darker. i finished it next morning. i will never do motor mounts again on RSX-S
