Can't see pictures
 

Hey everyone! I'm pretty new here and I just have one issue. I can see SOME pictures, very rarely though. Most pictures however I can't see at all. There isn't even a little box or ANYTHING. Just the messages in text. It's like this on my home computer, work computer, and smartphone so I'm assuming it's some kind of restriction or setting, as it can't be pinned to one device. Like, I open a thread and there's discussion of products or mods or something of the sort, and everyone's commenting on the pictures and giving opinions, but all I see is the discussion, no pictures, no "error" boxes, no anything besides words. Very weird lol.

Can someone shine some light for me?

Really slow signal in all those places? Usually if I can't see a pic or an error box if I just wait long enough it will eventually pop up.

I'd like to believe that, but I work IT, we have some of the highest speeds I've ever seen. Same at home, and my cell service internet is super fast. I honesty don't know why I only see text on every device. It must be something with my account? I'm stumped lol :bonk:

The "X" versus nothing seems to depend on how the pictures are posted. I think when it is a link they just don't show at all, when it as an attachment the "X" shows up.

In my case, this is almost always caused by filtering, but sometimes I see it based on which browser I'm using and how it is set up.

I have noticed that I get varying results depending on location. Sometimes certain pics will show at home but not at work (most common, we do some pretty high level filtering at work) but occasionally I'll see it the other way around.

Under the "User CP" go to "Settings and Options" and in "Thread Display Options" make sure you have all the appropriate boxes checked.

All the appropriate boxes are checked, still no photos on any browser, on any device. :iono:

Edit: I only see words. However, when I go to the "Thread Tools" and click on "Printer Friendly Version" I can see the words, and a link to the pictures. However when I go back to the regular page, just words again.

Yea, that is odd. Have not seen that myself. Do you see them if you browse the threads not logged in at all? That would eliminate the account being an issue, and from what I've seen you can see photos either with or without being logged in (some forums restrict photos if you aren't logged in).

I logged out, and now I can see "attached" images but none that are links lol

Weird. Do you have anything set/checked in the image resize boxes of that same section?

Was set to open in a new window. I set back to default, and now I can see everything! Lol thanks bud! :cheers:
