Cup holder inserts?

I pick up the new girl in the morning, a 2016 BRZ limited. It will be good to be back in a twin since I parted ways with the 2013 FR-S a while back. Question though, has anyone found a solution to the cupholders? As wide as they are cups of coffee tend to move around a lot resulting in significant spillage of blistering hot liquid during even moderate cornering or speed changes. Huge cups fit great, water bottles flip around a little, but is there an insert or something that someone has found that makes it more coffee friendly?

Just cut some foam and line it. That's what i did for the water bottle holder in the door to keep the water bottle from moving around so much.

I guess there was a failed kickstarter for this:

This is a driving machine, not a cafe.

Get a cup with a lid and don't drive crazy when it's full.

What this guy said. Also a guy a few months ago was trying to solve this exact problem. He put 2 layers of Velcro inside the cup holder to fill it out

It's not even an uncapped issue. A covered coffee makes a mess when it tips over because of the over large and under deep cupholders. I was just wondering if there was a ready solution. I can craft something if I need to which it kindof seems like is the case.

We didn't come up with an answer for the last guy either, he used Velcro. Any foam or whatnot would work. Now... You could design and 3d print an insert for your cup holder... make it as tall as you want

I have already started on a design that would replace the factory tray. I have some ideas so we'll see if there's something worth sharing so others can 3D print their own when it's over with. Hopefully I'll be reporting back on this in the not too distant future.

It does seem to be a wide spread problem. Shouldn't be too hard to design
