DarkRs FR-S build (JRP)

Hey guys, Im new on this forum.

Working at JRP for a couple years already with @Stavs. I may have already talk with some of you guys as a lot of people on this forum are coming to our store to get parts. Don't hesitate to msg me if you got any inquiries on parts or any other questions, it's always fun to talk about 86 :D

I bought a FR-S in october 2015, took me at least 4month to choose the right color.... ended up with Asphalt . I had many cars already with way more WHP than this one (Type-R, Evo 9, Evo X, STI...) and I had to say that I was affraid that I would find this one ''boring'' and was looking at it for over a year and honestly I am totally in love with this car. That car is fantastic!

I understand now when people talks about the fact that it is a ''Driver'' car. Nothing that I ever tried before handles better than the 86, the interior is just perfect, driver position is amazing... I should have bought this car before!

So working at JRP and starring at parts all day... of course gotta end really fast modifying it ....well fast as like ....the first day :D

Here is how it looks just before I put her to storage for the winter. (Only drove it for like 2500kms )

So talking about modifications

First thing I did (In the dealer parking lot) was to install a SPRINTBOOSTER to get rid of that throttle body lag/delay.

Living in Ontario , we have to use front plates wich I think is extremely ugly but we have a solution for it .

2nd thing, I know some guys here likes them but I can't stand the factory tail lights so I swap them for Winjet red ones.

I was lucky enough to get a TEIN defi smart unit to test and I really like it. In brief it's a obd2 reader that can be displayed on your iphone via bluethooth. It's universal and depending on cars what is available to be read via obd2 port can be different, Here is what it lookes like and what I chose to display on it.

After driving it for 800-1000kms getting more confident getting into corners , thought that the rear end could use the help of our friend at Whiteline. The difference is amazing, transmission feels way more responsive and can't feel the ''loose feeling'' anymore, the rear is way more stiff and easier to slide in corners.

After that I figured that this car got a lack of response when getting out of a corner and accelerating from a stop/red light , we had one in stock so why not swap the driveshaft for a DriveshaftShop aluminium one?

I highly suggest you this modification, car feels way more alive, response is noticeable, accelerates easier, getting out of corners feels like you have way more torq. That should be done before any engine mod in my opinion.

That was it for 2015. During the winter I got some parts to be installed as soon as I can get it out, I hope 1st of April .

Got an INJEN intake also, I really like the fitment on it, looks really good too. Will find out later if it worth it or not, I was hesitating between this one and the AFE/GREDDY
