Dirt streak on roof?

I don't know what this black line is but I'm assuming its dirt but I'm not sure how or why it gets accumulated like this. Is there an easy way to remove this? It's almost like its digging into the paint. I've tried rubbing it off with water and a towel but it doesn't seem to come off easily. I also do notice little "scratch" marks around the body of my car, and those are easy to rub off. Anyone has this happen to them, especially on a white car? :iono:

Debris on road. I have a few too! Plasticky rubbery line. I took them off with googone and wax 'detailer.' Piece of tire or something must have bounced off of your roof.

Looks to me like a small chuck of tire that just grazed your roof.
I had a few of those when I drive on I5 to LA or San Fran. Just truck tires tearing apart and bouncing off the road.

I used the goo be gone stuff worked fine.

^^^ I second this. When I got my car, I found those black streaks along the edges of the hood, the creases on the roof, and the front fenders. I'll bet if you opened your hood and looked under the edges of your hood / top of your fenders you'll find more of the streaks or even slivers of the white wrap.

Shitty picture, I know, my google-fu has failed me, but you can see where the factory wrap is:

the leftover adhesive and dirt is easy to take off, just as others say, a little bit of goo gone and a microfiber towel.

Looks like you drive under a low hanging limb

This guy hit the nail on the head. Go buy some adhesive remover and get to work. Be careful not to rub the dirt in or you might also be polishing those areas to get the swirls out haha
