7/1/2012 Caffeine and Octane Meet Up in Atlanta

If anyone is available I plan on attending Caffeine and Octane this Sunday 7/1/2012.

It would be great to see some of the other 86 owners there!

I would be laughed out of the lot from my sad excuse for a Hyundai Accent.

Meet us halfway and we can do some driving at Cheaha. We will be making one of those Atlanta events when I get back in September!

Hah! Maybe, but you could always PlastiDip a eagle on the hood or something so it looks "custom". I'm not sure how a stock FR-S fits in either, but I'm going anyway.

You can always park somewhere else in the parking lot and wander over to the "display" area. :party0030:

I could leave the dent in the side and call it "modern art." I just need to make up some BS about how it reflects the darkness of my soul or some other nonsense that gets applied to abstract art. Would that make it a minimalist art car?

Works for me!

I will be there with my Z. Plan to check out the other BRZ/FRS owners there. Best car show I've ever been to that's for sure.

I should be there. I need to get the car detailed tomorrow.

Let us know how they respond to the FR-S. =) I would love to join once I can nail one down.

Will do. Also, bumping this for others that may not have seen it yet. Would love to see some of the others in Atlanta there, since I haven't seen one on the road yet besides the two 1st86.

It was pretty interesting. They came in waves of people...there's a LOT of misinformation out there as well.

I got there late because I went to the old location still listed on their website as the location. Gonna have to talk to them about that. :paddle:

Yea, I was pretty amazed particularly given we were in a "side lot". I never did get to the main portion of the "show" but there were some amazing cars there (I did drive through the main section looking for a parking spot).

Most of the reactions were positive, multiple people said to me "I don't know who took the publicity shots for Scion/Subaru, but they don't do the cars justice!". Most of the questions were the standard ones we've gotten from everyone. Younger folks all asked "is it a turbo?", "Is the Subaru 4WD?", "how fast is it?". Older folks tended to ask "is it fast in the curves", and "how much does it cost?". Only one or two folks doing the "my grandma's Yugo is faster than this".

2pt5RS and I were there with ours, along with one other. We got pulled into a photo shoot later which was fun, and probably a little illegal given our shooting location on a lightly used, but public road. Don't have those photos yet, but when they come up we'll let everyone know where they
are. Should be some good shots.

There were a handful of folks from the forum, it was great meeting everyone, and especially cruising the streets with a couple other 86s!

Here's a couple I took with my cellphone, once again forgetting my "good" camera. :slap:
