Crosspost: Billet Race Seat Mount

Crosspost from this thread/poll here:

As most of you know, we put a big emphasis on two things: Quality parts, and getting the community involved. We've been detailing our racecar development mule over in the Build Thread section (Link), and now that the cage is done, we're about ready to start installing the "real" racecar stuff. Seats, fire system, master kill switch, things like that.

We designed these seat mounts using a 3D scan of the interior of the car to maximize headroom and allow as many possible mounting configurations as possible.

In this image, you can see them being used to mount our Racetech halo-style seats like we'll be using, but they can accept just about any common race seat mount due to the large quantity of M8x1.25 threaded holes.

They bolt up to the factory seat mounting points using Class 10.9 hardware. You can see the optional sub-strap mount for using a 5 or 6 point harness.

They're being made out of 6061-T6 aluminum with a military-spec black anodizing. Designed and made here in the US. We're hoping to have these in production in the next month or so. Prices are still up in the air, but that's the whole point of this post.

The parts are already designed and sent out for quotes, but the community feedback will help us decide how many we order. Obviously the more we order, the lower the price will be. So what do you say? Are you in for a pair or two? If so, follow the link at the top of this post and vote in the poll!

I'm interested for a set (driver + passenger), with sub-strap bar. Would like to know the price of course!

Also - would be great if you can also offer a non-anodized version cheaper. :)

Would these work with carpet still in the car?

We don't have numbers back yet (should be this week sometime). I'm not optimistic it'll save enough to make it worthwhile. If it's only $5-$10 cheaper per part, we wind up losing those savings in the increased inventory we have to carry for both versions. Does that make sense?

Although we haven't tested them yet, I see no reason why they wouldn't.

Sounds good - My car won't be running anytime soon, but interior is stripped and I have sparco circuit seats w/ side mount coming in soon, so looking forward to this!

These look great. Will we be able to rake the seat a little bit? Any word on numbers?

Raking the seat wouldn't be a problem. As mentioned in the original thread, we're going to hold off on the billet design right now due to cost, and make a formed steel version that matches double-locking sliders.
