Bingo. Probably something bouncing around your trunk did it. Check the button first.

Never thought about chopping them.. Maybe I'll try that next time. But @go_a_way1 I need to know! but wait... now I have that feature in the trunk so I now can put them in there alive and then finish afterwards.

I only do 1 at a time as to not weigh the car down.

I do whole, less messy.

Yes but they tend to make a lot more noise and there is a emergency escape handle you have to cut off first.

Nope. I should call the tire shop sometime soon.

Can I pick your tires? I will find you some race slicks, they might not last long but will be a hell of a lot of fun?

I think I already have a set picked out, but I was ultimately down to RE71Rs or S-04 Pole Positions, and I'm leaning more towards the street tire.

I hear good things about the pole positions and I would guess they might be better in the rain just from comparing the treads haha

Yeah. It certainly rains here fairly frequently. We get more inches of rain per year than Seattle.

Nitto Invos are suburb in the rain. I used to drive balls out with them in the wet with no fear, however they are not this stickiest in the dry

You guys drive these in the rain without AWD?

I'm surprised. When I was looking at tires people couldn't spit out "Pilot super sport!" fast enough, but it's not even whispered here.

I always recommend race tires for everyone including old ladys. Its a safety thing, who knows when you will need to stop super fast or dodge something on the road and need the extra control :burnrubber: lmao

I did have to test their stopping power the other day. A jeep decided he just couldn't wait for one more car to make his left turn out of the park. There was no one behind me and no one coming the opposite direction, but he still decided to bolt out at flip-over speed when I was maybe 3 or 4 car lengths from the park entrance doing 50. I saw him easy enough, hit the brakes hard but didn't engage any nannies. He somehow stayed upright despite his crazy exit, and my tires didn't even screech going from 50 to 20.

See I plan on getting to the point I can not engage ABS as my tires will be too sticky lmao! but tires are the only thing holding you on the road so safety!! Just watch out for rain because racecar

They're so popular here it's silly. All I seem to read is "PSS and done."

Yup, I almost felt like if I bought anything else I'd get flamed. I was pressured into buying them haha. We'll see if my bank account can keep up with buying them, but I might have to seek alternatives.

Yeah I am one who doesn't like doing what everyone else does, I cant wait to review my tires to see if they are any good for the average FRS driver. Honestly they will probably be way to extreme for most people and overtiring a car like this wont be much fun

Yeah but a lot of people seem to give good reviews about them for street use. I believe there are much much better track tires than the MPSS. With that being said I have MPSS on my car now and when they wear out I want to try some hankook rs3's or Nitto nt05

Teseo 02-26-2016 02:19 PM

Shell Vpower 91 octane or cheap-ass brand 93 octane?

As a worker in the oil refinery business there isn't much difference between most gas stations in regards to quality of the gas. There are chances of getting a bad batch of gas from anywhere.

why the drag radials? NT01's seem more suited to the FRS with stiffer sidewalls and designed for circuit racing

Nevermore 02-26-2016 02:25 PM

Shell way overcharges for premium (at least here) so I'd buy virtually anything else. Last time I checked shell vpower was a $0.60 premium over regular gas, while everyone else was charging a $0.40 premium for premium.

do you mean why not drag radials?

NT05's are typically a more street friendly tire while NT01's are more suited for track.
