Haha thats cheating they collected them for you haha!

Honestly, collecting them was their idea. I didn't plan on that collection. In fact, everything I collect has pretty much been given to me. Buy two or three of something, mention that you like it, and it becomes the default gift or souvenir from people when they go on vacation.

Then how come no one brings me car parts when they go visit Japan??

My girlfriend will be with me, and she doesn't real get drifitng (my truer passion), so I'm looking to get tail happy because who cares about times anyways, haha.

Haha yeah I would do the same thing probably. I mean I know drifting is inefficiency (except maybe on enough of a downhill? Is there a mythbusters on that?) but I would mainly be out there for a good time since I know I wouldn't be competitive anyway.

Honestly, this particualr event is usually pretty small (It IS Mississippi), so that, combined with my not-so-mediocre driving skill, I know I can be competitive at this event, but beating times only does so much for me. I'm way more about style. :D

Also, I hope that didn't sound super cocky. I don't think I'm god's gift to driving, but I do have a lot more competitive driving experience than most others my age that I know. That being said, it's been a couple years since my last formula event, and about a year since my last autocross, so there's definitely some rust to knock off.

it has been proven drifting is slower, however it is fun as hell. I try not to drift much anymore as 1) it was relatively unsafe for where I was doing it, and 2) tires. I am on 18 tires now bought for my car now.

I used to competitively race karts for a few years, would be interesting to see us go head to head? TBH I dont think I am nearly as good in a full size car as I was in a kart haha. I am too afraid to really push my car 110% as its my only car so I dont want to wreak.

To finish me off, idiot goalie stepped on my feet fouling me. Result, I've twisted my ankle. While this was happening, ref didn't do shit... I didn't go down when ball hit me. I'm good, I was a wall, I was expect that to happen... but when I go down in massive pain from twisted my ankle, what ref tell me? "Get up!" FU, how bout I kick your ass and break your ankle and tell you to get up.

I'm done ranting. Just upset but I'm good. I got busy weekend a head of me, can't get this in the way.

Gotta be careful, maybe go for a different sport where you aren't taking balls to the face on a regular basis ;)

You know they are doing National Park Quarters now, too?

My first auto-x, I was so lost.

Didn't walk the course because tech took so long to do. 1st run was blind with an experienced driver. Was simply learning the course. 2nd run was still with someone but went a bit faster. 3rd run, I was doing worse, ran it alone.

Last run, I saw I was near last so I said fuck it, all traction off (as much as it can go). I was powersliding everywhere. :D

If there wasn't the monthly local meet, I would have hit up 1st auto-x this weekend for the year.

XD My first autocross was in a mustang on cut springs.

I slid out of the end of a slalom and slid UP TO the cone in front of the timing bar. I could have reached out and grabbed the cone.

I also took my very slidy Datsun, on God only knows how old of tires. Some kid jumped in my car. I told him I couldn't go very fast in it. His response was "Yeah, I don't care, I wanna go sideways with you." XD

I have a bit of a reputation...
I am going to try to put down some good laps, though. I really haven't pushed this car too hard, apart from a few moments and some drifts, so I feel I'm not as well acquainted with is as I'd like to be.

Also, tech is a real pain . -.-

Oh, on a side note, I also broke my throttle cable in my mustang at that event. I ended up wedging the throttle body open to get home.

Yes! and I feel you about not wanting to wreck. This is definitely my biggest investment so far, apart from my education.

However, when I have an autox on an open air field, all fear goes out the window!

I take such good care of my car (as you probably saw from all those pics a few pages back) I couldn't bear to hit even a cone with my baby hahaha! I like to play it safe and drive her carefully. However when I head up to private event at castrol speedway thats a different story. Still wont go 110% though

p1l0t 04-08-2016 10:58 AM

The first time around the course set your odometer. Next divide the fastest time by that distance. The second time around accelerate as fast as possible to said speed plus 1mph (or 2kmh), set the cruise control, hold on. Guaranteed to win. ;)

Damn forum is broken again, cant quote people. -_-

Anyways, we are having a private track day just for 86's this summer. I can't wait to finally push the car in "safer" conditions - as apposed to pushing the car near the edge of a mountain cliff...

I dunno how long the car will last but reading all the threads, who knows? Should probably order new brake pads, tires, and brake fluid in advance so I can replace it when I get home. :bellyroll:

HunterGreene 04-08-2016 11:10 AM

Btw, stupid weather putting snow on the ground 2 weeks after I put my summer tires on...seriously, wtf.
