NASA or SCCA for stock FR-S?

Hello, I have a 2016 and I was wondering what club best fits a stock FR-S? A little background, I'm 45, have a love for racing since I was little but never had a chance or money to race or even Kart. F1 inspires me more and I enjoy a road course more than straight line performance. Anyway I just got my 2016 in July, my very first new car and just love it. My goal is to work up to the highest stock class that allows passing that I can take my stock FR-S with its few mods, drop in K&N, TRD lowering springs, WinMax W2 pads, Motu brake fluid, TRD exhaust. I also have an 86 Nanny that disables everything but ABS, but ABS disable is a knob turn away. I have other plans for other mods, like tires for track, but since it is my DD I don't want to do any Mapping or FI. What club would best fit my desire? I live 1/2 hour from New Jersey Motorsports Park where SCCA and NASA have venues. Next it seems just to join the correct club. Any info and suggestions would be helpful. I do have 2-20 minute HPDE sessions completed so I'm not too green.. :]

Either should be able to fill your needs. I'd check with your local track junkies to hear their opinion, as every region is run differently.

Find out which series has more events locally. I believe NASA has better HPDE programs. There are plenty of other series as well.

If you are going to run NASA and do not already have some of those parts, and want to run in TT, I wouldn't suggest buying the TRD exhaust as you will take points for that.

Well both of those are great, if you want to compete. If you just want to have fun and do track day the just piggy back of any group that rents track days.

I'd look for a group that offers quality instruction.

Do both and when you start to go broke, pick the one you like the most.

That's why I made this thread, just trying to gauge someone who had done 1 or both and their experiences pro and con.

If you're looking to race, as in wheel to wheel racing, and not HPDE where you get a point by or time trials, you need a roll cage. If you want to HPDE or time trial NASA has a bigger national program than the SCCA.

I would try them both and then go from there.
