NORGP GT86 just for Track Rebuild
Hey Guys,
We bought a Salvage Title FRS last year to rebuild into a track only car. Car was cheap, and didnt seem to have structural damage. We plan to rebuild the car and make it a purely track car to compete in a category called ST Jr. here in Panama. Some upgrades might seems off, but we are constrain by several rules. *Edit 1; Adding MODs* GT86 MODS Engine: Blitz Power Air Intake System Perrin Pulley Kit 100 Octane Tune w/EcuTek* Nameless Header* Ptuning 3in exhaust with straight pipe using a single exit Mishimoto Radiator* (thanks to @MicheleAbbate for getting us a 30% discount using Abbate30 at checkout) Mishimoto Oil Cooler* Super B B10P lightweight Battery NORGP Wire-tuck and Battery relocation Drivetrain: Perrin Transmission Mount Whiteline Differential Insert Support Cusco Differential Collars MFactory 4.67 Final Drive MFactory 2way PLATE LSD Spec Stage 3+ Clutch and Aluminum Flywheel KartBoy Short Shifter Chase Bays Clutch Line Interior: NORGP Weight Reduction Program (took the back seats, copilot seat and mostly everything out...) engine bay ?

We had to work a bit on it, but chase bays did a good job already. Not all sensor were present, and some didnt reach their designated cables. So, we had to work on the wire harness a bit. http://i.imgur.com/Gjcxsso.jpg |
Didn't know they wrecked it. Good to see it being put to use. In for updates
|
cool purchase, I had seen they wrecked it a long time ago.
If you can take precise photo of the wiring I think a lot of people will be interested. I LOVE clean engine bay ;) From what I can see: - no HVAC - no ABS Interesting routing of fuel like lines. It seems they routed a lot of wires under the 'plenum/intake'. I would be curious to see how it looks behind there Questions: - where is the engine bay fuse box ? I assume somewhere under the passenger dash board ? Really cool car, I hope you can restore if to its prime condition. Again, please post good picture of the wiring setup, this will be really helpful to many of us who want to clean up our engine bay. |
BTW if you hesitate between KW V@ or TArmac2, go tarmac 2, I had chance to test drive both, RCE Tarmac2 are way much better valved.

@philooo I dont have a recent picture of the routing under the manifold, since the car is at the workshop getting the rollcage welded in. But I can share these old ones.
Here the fuse box was still in the original position and our electrical/mecanical/pit engineer was trying to understand the wire harness... http://i.imgur.com/vxsskAI.jpg You can barely see it, but thats the oem baterry on the passenger side and the fuse box is where the A/C unit was before. Bonus, testing our tablet with our OBD2 to check sensores and datalogging. Not the best fit, but works http://i.imgur.com/WsIDKiF.jpg Inside view after the weight loss program. Notice the ECU taking a break on the center. http://i.imgur.com/aKnnGBv.jpg Better view of the front. We are keeping the front panels, as it is require by the rules. http://i.imgur.com/PzxqIHJ.jpg Rollcage assembled outside the car. It is currently waiting to be welded. http://i.imgur.com/4vKknvI.jpg |

sub'd because of Chase Bays

Ok after a few emails with Myles and Lawrence. We went for the RCE Tarmac 2 Coilovers with 400/400 lbs springs.
So, those are ordered and waiting on them to arrive! Small update: went for the AEM Front Strut Bar and we got locally a rocket bunny GT Style spoiler. |
Sorry for the slow updates.
Too much work, not enough playtime... We install the Mishimoto Radiator, Mishimoto Oil Cooler and a new front grill. http://i.imgur.com/X7MlMIc.jpg We had a few problems with fitting the oil cooler sandwich plate and lines with the intake. Made a radical change and will probably have a solution for it after these holidays. http://i.imgur.com/8GP30ya.jpg The team wants to take advantage of holy week, so might show more updates on the weekend. |
Ok we had our first day at the Track! I have to say WOW!!!!
This car hugs corners, and turns like a MF! We are lacking in the straights as we have a stock tune, and our ecutek cable has been back-ordered for 4 weeks now... but on corners we where able to shine. We are 2 seconds behind the champion in our category. Here are some pictures: http://i.imgur.com/W80GNxY.jpg At the pits waiting for the track to open http://i.imgur.com/wubOdN9.jpg a slow corner http://i.imgur.com/5xgnxdz.jpg passing a Civic Type R with a K20 swap http://i.imgur.com/vFKflMI.jpg Behind an Integra Type R *Bonus* http://i.imgur.com/qQtugYp.jpg A modified Mclaren was reminding us mortals what speed really is... Straights turns breaking, this guy was just tooooo fast |
