2014 BRZ Head Unit SD Card Navi Question

I recently purchased a 2014 subaru brz and the head unit was missing the oem sd card. As a result, when my battery was reset my head unit no longer works and asks to insert an sd card for programing. The id on the face of the head unit indicates FA632US. I am looking to purchase an oem sd card from ebay so that i can reprogram my unit. My question is which part number is the compatible with the head unit in my 2014 brz limited. Will part number 86283CA640 (8gb made in japan, latest version update) work in my unit? I think this is the sd card that came in the 2015-2016 units. I am not positive. Please advise as i do not want to end up buying an sd card that turns out will not work with my head unit. Thank you so much in advance!!

Your sdcard can be ordered from there.

Ok, thanks! And these are original sd cards that will allow my head unit to programitself when i insert it? The reason i ask is because i have read on these forums about a person who bought an updated map card but it would only work AFTER programing his unit by inserting his original card that came with the car which contained outdated maps, and then switching to the new card. This process would need to be repeated each time the battery Reset. Sorry of this seems like a silly question. I just want to make sure i get the correct card that will let me use my radio and navi without needing the original card because i do not have it. Thank you so much in advance for helping.

If he recently purchased a 2014 BRZ, I'm guessing he bought it used.

Could probably buy one from the dealer, but that might be at a ripoff price.

EDIT: Holy crap. its $150 for a single map update download from that site?!

Yea but they would just say its caused by user error (missing/lost SD card) and it wouldn't be covered.

Worth a try I guess, but if a dealership doesnt wanna give it away for free, they can easily argue not to.

they sold him the car without it he said. TBH i wouldn't look to make sure it was there when i bought the car without prior knowledge of what it was

He could have bought from a non-subaru dealer or a private seller.

Just test drive a BRZ and steal the SD card >_>

I believe you need to create a log in and then pick your car and model. There are some cards that are updates and some cards that are direct replacements iirc. I found this when I was looking for a map update. I think the none you want is $149. After you buy it give them a call and explain your situation, as they are very good at crediting people from what I hear. Good luck.
