Candidate Statements
@MisterSheep (Trevor): First off, I am very flattered and would like to thank each and every person who nominated me for a chance to be a part of the NorCal86 Board team. On that note, for those of you I may not have met yet, my name is Trevor. I am a late bloomer when it comes to the 86 community as I just purchased my FR-S back in July of 2015. Although I’ve only had the car for roughly 7 months now, I feel like I have learned so much just from this community. Some of you might recognize me from local meets as I’ve tried to make it all across the bay to meet other owners who share my same passion. For the past couple of months I have enjoyed planning the East Bay weekly meets and would like to further my commitment to this community. Some of my past cars would include a 1994 Nissan 300zx and a 2003 Subaru WRX. While owning those cars I was also involved within both communities, but neither has compared to the friendly and welcoming atmosphere the 86 group has provided. Although some car owners may share the same passion, they may not necessarily share the same respect for others. In my short time in the 86 group, I have experienced more respect and support from other members than i have in all previous groups combined. This level of respect is something that i would like to continue to strengthen between members of this community. In becoming a board member I hope that I can continue to maintain the respect and passion that this community holds. I plan on continuing to welcome and introduce members, as well as, help others grow their knowledge about the 86 platform. Seeing people who share the same passion come together for nothing else but to talk about cars is what has made this a great experience for me and I hope I can continue to do that for others as a NorCal86 board member. Thank you. @MyRx (Jessie): @Pish (Josh): Quote:
Thanks to all those who have supported me over the years, including those of you who voted for me without even waiting for me to issue a statement. :D Hi, I’m Plato aka PMok. I live in Hayward but often wander the backroads throughout the Bay Area in my BRZ. Along with fellow Board member @MyRx, I helped co-found the sister organization 86DRIVE to encourage fellow 86 owners to use these great cars as they were meant to be used. Whether it’s at the racetrack, the local autocross, or our favorite twisty canyon backroad, our passion is driving. I hope you’ll join us at one of the many drives and other events that we will plan to have in 2016. We try to put on fun, welcoming and memorable activities that will have you smiling and asking, “when’s the next one?” Visit our website and events calendar at 86drive.com and follow us on Facebook and Instagram (86drive) to be sure you don’t miss our events. I’ve had the pleasure of serving the community as a Board member for the last two years, and if you’ll have me again I look forward to serving again in 2016. I welcome all suggestions and ideas on how we can make the club experience a fantastic one and I hope to meet and chat with many of you in person this year. @Pwolf (Scott):I guess I'll start off saying thanks for nominating me in the first place. My name is Scott. I've been a part of this community for about two years and its been great. Since I pulled into the 2013 end of summer bbq and met a lot of you for the first time, I've always felt welcome. Since then I've tried to go on as many drives and meets as possible, most times driving an hour or more to get there. I'm a photographer so I try to bring my camera with me and snap a few shots. I'll go to the track just to hang out and take pictures. I also try to help out any way I can, whether that's providing a random tool from my trunk, lending out a GoPro for the day (or just a sd card), or manning the BBQ at an event. I don't know a lot about cars compared to many of you but I think I share the same enthusiasm and passion. This community has always felt very welcoming to all kinds of people, no matter their background, knowledge, or even what car they drive. That's something I'd like to maintain. I think no matter who gets elected to the board, we have a good group of people and 2016 will be another good year. |

^^ @Pwolf
You are a great help at the track! Not only as the photographer but also a great all around helping hand. Thank you!!!! The sponsors are astounded by your photos and I've been ordered to get more pics/vids for 2016. BTW, I got an email that your 86Cup book has been shipped [to me]. You know I'm going to ask you to autograph it. Please. |
