Kiwami 18x9.5 all round. Stock Suspension
 

Not sure if this is the right place to post this.
Anyways, I just recently got a set of Kiwami 18x9.5 all round
Have been worrying for a few days wondering if there will be any problems with it on stock suspension. Didn't really want to get coilovers as I didn't want to spend that much on it, and didn't want it to be that low as I will have a hard time going over humps and up driveways..
So yeah, I just put on 235/40 Pirellis all round on them, and they sit very nice for me only poking out a few millimeters .
Very happy with the height and wheel gap compared to stock wheels.
The tyres just barely fit on the fronts with a maybe 2mm gap between the shocks..
Here's how it looks, what do you guys think? Should I get the coilovers (mca blues) done anyway?

Offsets matter. When the suspension compresses it will camber in, that 2mm gap won't exist anymore.

i have +38 offset at the moment. 18x9.5 +38

are you saying i will need coilovers ?

Just keep an eye on it and see if they touch/rub, it shouldn't cause any catastrophic issues short term. Yes negative camber (tops of tires tilt inward) increases when the suspension is compressed, but McPherson strut type suspension like our cars have on the front does not create THAT much camber during compression. The rear suspension is much more aggressive during compression though.

Suspension moves.
When you hit a bump it moves.
When it moves it will gain negative camber.
Negative camber will make the top of your wheels go closer to the suspension.
2mm is not a lot of clearance.
When you hit a bump you will have less than 2mm clearance, and may become intereference.

I am saying you are dangerously close.
Options are,
Live dangerously.
Get a small 2-3mm slip on wheel spacer for more clearance.
Get coilovers.
Not worth getting into an accident, or damaging those expensive works.

I have been really worried ever since I put them on =/
I was planning to get coilovers done, but I am really happy with the height right now and can't justify spending $2000 on them for a stiffer ride and a small drop in height.. especially when I am suppose to be saving for a wedding.

I will look into some spacers and see how it goes.
