Does the intake become audible after uel header intall?

I can hear a hiss sound from my engine after 4000rpm. Is that the intake or header leak

it's a normal sound. metals are thinner and there is no shielding like on your stock head. just enjoy !!

+1 to above aftermarket headers have thinner pipe walls and that = more NVH

Does coating or wrapping (not a fan) helps? Also I heard that Tomei or what makes thicker piping. I am a bit worried about that.

Coating doesn't help. Not sure about wrapping, but I doubt it. And as far as I've noticed, Tomei headers make the same noise.

The massive heat shield around the stock headers is probably whats blocking the noise. I doubt thicker/thinner piping would have much to do with it. Air gaped/isolated mass is what would block out noise.

Wrapping apparently helps....

My Tomei UELs are definitely a thicker gauge steel and have far less of the airy/raspy noise. My buddy's 1320 headers? Not so much.
