Good day,

I am getting the car from Sydney but I will be driving it back to Brisbane, so I wanted to ask how long does the opti-coating process takes, does the coating need to "set" afterwards and how long would it take before the car can be driven?

At this point I am expecting to be able to pick up the car on 1st of September, could you do the opti-coating at the dealers or some other location?

Thank you

Hi Loki,

The process generally takes about 4 hours, but this can take longer depending on how much prep the car needs before Opti Coat. Ive had instances where it has taken 8 hours, but that was pretty extreme.

Im happy to get the job done at the dealership if they let me...they dont really like letting outsiders into their workshop. Probably because all their "detailers" would stop work and watch me instead :iono:

If not im happy to either get it done somewhere else of your choice. Last choice would be to bring it to my place (Parramatta).

The official statement from Optimum states that it takes Opti Coat 12 hours to fully cure and shouldn't get wet during this time. I would check the weather on the day and make sure there is going to be no possibility of rain when your driving back.

PM me when your ready with your phone number mate and we can have a more detailed chat.

Frank

Hi Frank,

I sent you a private message with a similar query, but you have answered it below.

FT86_Zero could you please update the schedule and have the car booked in for an appointment with Frank on Sunday September 23. If Sunday is no good, Saturday September 22 suits.

Cheers,

Carl

I get my White GT late nov/early dec I am very interested in Option 2 however I live in Wollongong so where would I have to take this car to get it done?

Hi FT86 & Frank,

Loving the shining examples so far with other member's rides and good work with organising this special deal. I should be picking up my 86 early September so please put me down for option2! I'm located in Sydney.

Thanks!
Dave

Happy to drive down to the Gong for you mate. There would be a slight travel charge of $20 or so though.

Or if you can meet me at a mates place in Sydney I'm happy to get it done there.

Hi Frank, I'll be getting my 86 in Nov at this stage. The dealer tried to sell me their paint protection / interior protection stuff but don't trust it.

Please put me down for an option 2.

2 quick questions, would you come up to the central coast to do the car? Do you have an interior protection product?

Adam
