TRD air filter inside!
Since TRD doesnt have an airfilter listed yet in canada for the FR-S i decided to take my stock unit out and open up so boxes at work. Turns out its the exact same thing as a matrix 05. So below is 3 pictures with the part number!

Thanks for the tip. So is it perfect fit?

Cost?

I presume that a filter alone doesn't do all that much, am i right? I would think for a noticeable change you'd need a SRI or CAI. Personally i'd also heat-wrap it. But anyways, are there any dyno comparisons of stock filter versus the TRD?

Then i wonder if just a good heat-wrapping (Which is kind of fun do to) would do the same for the SRI(?) I've heat wrapped my SRIs and on the Celica i actually put in a duct system which runs from the fog light port in the bumper right to the filter. I wonder if that would be as good as the air box-- albeit with much more work/effort. |
