Window Pillar
 

Had my car returned from Toyota after they replaced the window pillars due to rust.

Is this foam at the base added on or has it always been there? Thought it might be added on to prevent rust from rattling.

Mine has it too, untouched from the dealer.

It is part of the weatherstrip TSB issued in early 2014 for the weatherstrip. Mine didn't have it before I had the TSB done but did after. At least that is my guess.

@Ratez .......I'm ah feared we are going to have to take that magnifying glass away from you .... unless you get your OCD under control .....;)

I checked my made in April 2013 FR-S, and it does NOT have that piece of foam there.

Nor is that piece rusted.

Our air and water come straight off of the ocean, clean and pure ...... and we don't add salt ...... :)

Well, now, I reckon I'll be taking my car into the dealer Monday morning, to get the foam that's due me.

As far as peeing my pants and it being seen ..... it's hard to overload a Depend® ...... :thumbup:

That strip is the sum total of the FR-S soundproofing materials.

Looks like extra weight. I don't want it.
