Automatic Frs stalling
Hey guys I recently discovered this issue when I was on my way home from work and I was coming up to a red light I was going about 45 50 and I had to stop suddenly because of the person in front of me and when I did this the rpms dropped very low around 1kish the engine started to shake and the car shut off.the car is tuned with a perrin Cai, uel header and perrin 2.5" cat back. Any ideas? It does not always happen when I'm coming to a stop only when I need to suddenly stop.

Do you have the regular Perrin intake or the big MAF one?

I have a AT. I can pull a 180 backing out of my driveway. About 1/4 the time my car stalls. My car is stock. I know this doesn't help, but I sympathize with you.

their is another thread on this issue here
for 2015/2016 their is tsb for auto trans software update http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=99426 |
But the thing is I'm having no idle issues only when I'm coming to a stand still

I've had this exact same issue happen to me, for over a year now. I have an ECUTek tune from one of the best 86 tuners on the platform. I've had him review logs when I stall and my engine is performing perfectly.
To me, sometimes it feels like it's (torque converter) having trouble disengaging from something fast enough. Using ECUTek I believe all my ECU software is up to date, but I'll have to double check the transmission ECU. 2013 FR-S K&N Drop-in Filter Intake Pipe Moto-East Flex Fuel Tomei UEL+Tomei OP+OEM Front Pipe+TRD Exhaust ECUTek tuned by HRITuning Only a problem when at a standstill. Track/Canyon/Highway/Continuous driving has shown no issues, just when I come to a stop, more pronounced with sudden stops. |

That's the reason why some call automatic transmissions "slush boxes" ..... because they sometimes turn to mush. Sorry, ......... it's a real slow day down here in Puyallup ....... :sigh: humfrz |
