iPod troubles

Anyone having issues with an ipod hooked up via usb not being recognized as plugged in to the system?

Sometimes it will pop right up and other times it just wont pick it up.

yeah, was looking forward to plugging mine in for a beach trip-- but wouldn't recognize it.

I had issues with mine hooking up to the FRS once I plugged it in.

Have you guys completely powered down your iPods and restarted them? It seemed to recognize mine no problem after that.

The biggest issue I had until I did the above was that it would say an iPod was plugged in, but couldn't sync up or it would sync for like 3 seconds then drop off.

Sorry if this doesn't help

does your ipod have the latest software?

mvhull 06-29-2012 10:26 AM

Yeah it does, it's one of the older iPod touches, but it's up to date.
I did do the total shutdown and start back up, that seems to work.

I'm about to get an iPhone, have you all had good luck with the iPhone connectivitiy? Can it stream Pandora through iPhone USB connection?

I have an iPhone 4s and I use bluetooth for my iTunes playlists. It works great, the sound is good and it displays all the information on the screen (no graphics). It also very quickly synched all my contacts and updates my contacts whenever I have updated my iPhone.

How about messages? I've got a blackberry and it kept trying to sync messages, but never completed. Does that work on iPhone?

Not really sure what the point would be, but curious.

Nope, I don't remember it trying to synch my messages.

I would have to look in the radio manual to see if that is an option and how to do it if it is.

I think syncing messages will require next iOS (6?).

I've found that if I plug in my iPhone before starting the car, it wont recognize it sometimes. I just pull the cable out of the phone and plug it back in and it's fine.

I found Bluetooth audio to be weak.

Just to confirm, I have had this problem a few times as well. Unplugging/plugging back in seems to fix it.

My ipod is plugged in 100% of the time. Its the latest generation nano, so I just leave it inside the little compartment and its not visible. Have never had a problem with it, comes right up quickly everytime.

Maybe faulty cable for those who are having problems?

I have an old video iPod which needed a firmware update now works perfectly.

My 3GS@jailbroken 4.0.1 wouldn't communicate over USB besides identifying itself as an iPod in the radio, but my mother's iPhone 4 with iOS 4.2 works. I think it might just be about the firmware.

Bluetooth works okay, though.

Pause music.

Silly question.

How do you pause the music when in iPod mode?
