Why no 17x7 love?

Hey, just wondering, but why are so many companies today only making rims by 17x9+

Like i find a lot of nice rims, but the smallest they ever go is 17x9

What ever happened to the days of 17x7?

For example, i like RPF1's...but in SBC...however they only make them in 17x9 plus...

Why?

jvincent 02-04-2016 10:30 AM

Because ricecar.

Mr.Impreza 02-04-2016 10:34 AM

Yeah, i understand 17x9 looks nice in pictures, but I don't understand why you would want to take away the nimble/playful feeling of this car and make it drive like a train?

It's even proven 16x7 are quicker for lap times on the stock car.

(Minus guys with high hp, than i understand you'd want wider)

Probably no SBC because of demand. Those who want track wheels in 17x7, most figure don't care about the "bling" of the SBC coating. I personally run 17x9 w/ 245, couldnt be happier with how it feels. I might drop down to a 17*8 with 225 RC1 for NASA tho.

I am with you on this!! If I ever get rims I would get a 17x8 at the widest and they must be lighter then stock, but thats if I jump on the wheels bandwagon

Yeah same here i wouldn't go anymore than 17x8. I'm staying stock rims though also. I'd only get new rims if Eneki RPF1 were made in 17x7 in SBC cause they are lighter than stock and look cool (to me)

Yeah but they are over used haha. Here are some 17x8's that I like the look of (and I don't like many wheels lol) and they are lighter then stock and best part is they are cheap. Click me to become happy there is at least 1 option for us

Really it's just about $$.

I really don't like the look of the RPF1, so I ended up getting PF-01s in 18x8.5. A few more $$$, nothing crazy like fully forged, but still lighter than stock even at that size.

I am just curious as to why you think they only have them in 17x9?..

Just a little bit of searching did I find them in;

17x7.5 +48 5x100
17x8 +35 and +45 in 5x100

If you're so set on the color as well why not get it powder coated?
