This is important, because even the tC was an toyota Avensis (sold in the UK) underneath, almost all the cars in the scion lineup were reused, by stripping them to "baser" models and then changing the body panels up to make them appealing and look completely separate to what we in North America know toyota for.

You always could. It just cost big bucks.

Not only that... In addition to shelling out $800 for the airbag cover, there was an easy but risky step you had to further take in order to ensure that the airbag still works as intended.

This thread talked about having to replace the actual single-stage airbag in the JDM 86 airbag cover with the dual-stage airbag in the USDM Scion airbag. With the Toyota FR-S coming out, this shouldn't be a necessary step anymore, assuming Toyota releases the same 86 airbag cover along with the 2017 rebadge.

I know we're talking about the Toyota badge on the airbag cover, but personally, I would rather see the 86 logo on the airbag cover.

EDIT: I'm not sure how I missed your earlier post with the same exact link. Huh.

I bought it as a Scion and I knew what I was buying. I did my research, and knew what I wanted.
And that was a really fun car to drive, that corners like a dream. Toyota has always backed it up anyway.
The badges don't matter the car does.
For the money can anyone actually say they didn't get their moneys worth.
This car was only given to Scion to boost the dying brand, it did it's job (as a flagship car so they could sell the lesser models that they had in stock) and is now rebranded to it's rightfull position.
Nothing changes but the price and the options.
That's my thoughts anyway.

I can't wait for a few years from now when I can tell all the kids I have a classic sky-on complete with the original badges.
