Only thing i'd like to look forward is for about 10db less in noise at highway speed, better mpg (bump to 34 for manual in hwy), better sound system and more pvc/leather in seats. I like Alcantara but i feel limited somehow....

I'm against a 'performance' edition. They should all be bumped 25hp-50 and no more, or nothing at all.

You want a Prius is what you're saying?

I'm also happy to see Scion go. In 2003/4 I was really excited to see it come, but it seemed they started running long in the tooth by the time the second xB came around; they were already out of touch with "the youth market."

Making the ZN6 a Scion was a decent move by Toyota to breathe some life into the brand where it existed, but one car wasn't going to save a brand.

correct me if I'm wrong but aren't they the ones who marked up an FR-S for 32 grand back when the car was first released?

not sure, I didn't get my car till middle of summer. I do remember Subaru dealerships marked up the price on the BRZ

how are there options for the price if I JUST literally ask what other options there are and you said none?

why are you trying to compare apples to oranges?

There are a ton of powerful, fun cars under 30. No 2+2 sub 3,000 lb drivers only car like you asked.

You have a very specific and narrow criteria that basically pigeon holes this car to have no competition.

Level 32 T-60D armour with a T-45A right arm. I have no idea where I lost the sonofabitch!

I did the same thing with a piece of my T-60. Didn't realize it went into inventory when busted and I sold it, but couldn't remember where. Had to go on a vendor search to buy it back.

I had number of friends whining about the mark up on the BRZ. I told them if you wanna be cheap just get the FR-S or just wait until the heat dies down. Their reaction "I want to be one of the 1st to have one and ewww Scion logo, no thanks".

But.... the car has some very obvious competition. People cross shop it.

miyoshi82 02-03-2016 04:46 PM

I'm curious if this will affect the aftermarket parts industry or not?

Teenage kids?

Women who think the car is "cute?"

If you're at least some-what automotive intelligent, you'll know straight off the bat there's nothing else to consider given the same criteria that the car was essentially born from.

Power was the last priority on the list when this car was created.

This is like asking someone looking for a compact truck like a Ranger/Frontier why they didn't buy a Cummins Ram 2500. Sure, they're both trucks, but completely different level and intentions.

Ha. Ha. As I recall, Scion's Jack hollis pushed insanely hard to take the car from Toyota North America to "save" his brand. I don't think Toyota Japan had much to do with it.

I would be ok with this. Not over joyed as I'd prefer GT86, but ok.

I'm a little disappointed. Only because I was hoping the next Supra would be a Scion and then I could drink the tears of everyone who got so pissed off about it. :D

Totally expected though. Surprised it wasn't sooner.

Yes.

Application data for the FR-S/BRZ used to look like this:
4/12-

Now it will look like this:
4/12- /16

This car is just getting out of warranty and hitting 2nd gen owners - the aftermarket support will remain strong for quite some time. Like the S2k.

Will Toyota still have parts for Scions? Like oil filters and shit? Or will we go the way of Spiker?

God I hope you know I'm kidding.

MisterSheep 02-03-2016 05:53 PM

Scion is the toyota version of Saturn.

c4lvinnn 02-03-2016 05:54 PM

Apparently changing a badge on a car changes the whole infrastructure of said vehicle and is a complete redesign.

More importantly, now the Scion 'pure pricing' garbage goes away so you can negotiate the price... who wants to bet MSRP is about to jump? :I

With the exception of the Sky, they hadn't really put out anything interesting. I mean, look at their lineup before shutting down: CUV/Econobox (Vue), small sedan/hatchback (Astra), medium Sedan (Aura), large SUV (Outlook), small sporty car (Sky)

Whereas Scion had the iM econobox, small sedan (iA), medium coupe (tC), announced CUV (CH-R or whatever they called it) and small sports car (FR-S).

Oh...wait...:bonk:
