About time. I haven't stopped smiling since I read this. Now, we wait and see if they simply swap the badges or actually give us the trim levels some of us have been kicking and screaming for. GT86 Limited and don't skimp on the currently missing items (seen here) for me please. As well as including the bare bones base and everything in between as options for those who want them. Otherwise it's not much of a victory.
All I'm saying is, do it right Toyota. Please. You've made us wait and suffer long enough, do it right. |

iM is already built as the Toyota Auris at the same factory. FR-S is already built as the Toyota 86 at the same factory. iA is already built as the Toyota Yaris at the same factory. It's literally zero extra parts to develop to do this change, all you need to do is stop making a few emblems at the factories. I would bet that this was in talks for a relatively extended period but that the final decision happened recently. Jeff |

This is exactly what I'm waiting for as well. If this becomes a reality I will be loading up on GT-S trim level parts. |
Trims would be nice.
Only thing i'd like to look forward is for about 10db less in noise at highway speed, better mpg (bump to 34 for manual in hwy), better sound system and more pvc/leather in seats. I like Alcantara but i feel limited somehow.... I'm against a 'performance' edition. They should all be bumped 25hp-50 and no more, or nothing at all. |

The only "trim" I wish I got were OEM Xenons/HIDs. I was not about to buy the Tom Selleck version (or Monogram/S1) just for OEM Xenons and other add-on doo-dads that I didn't care about.

For everybody that didn't buy one but may have if it had more HP there is probably at least one person that bought it that would not have because it scared the crap out of them. So as far as that goes we can probably just call it a wash for the two groups. Now... having said that if they had offered an "normal" one for the average Joe and a higher powered version for the guys that want to kill 'Stangs then they may have sold more but I don't think that number would be as big as some say. |

I don't honestly think they could have supported two versions. Maybe, judging by the series.blue and release series, but a factory FI version...doubtful. With what engines Subaru has available, what power bump the "new" model will get won't be big. It isn't like they can do anything unless it is drastic to get some real power. Maybe it is a wash, but at least it would make "more" people happy? |

When they were originally announcing the car in the 20-22K range 200 HP was awesome. Now that they're 26-27+, lets be real.... |
