Wheel Directory: Gram Lights 57Maximum 18x8.5 +45
http://www.darrendriven.com/ft86/title.png
This last weekend I was able to do a test fit of a set of wheels and tires I had picked up a few months ago from a friend that was parting out his STI. They are Rays Gram Light 57 Maximums in 18x8.5" with a +45 offset running 245/40/18 BFG R1's. http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w...29471734_n.jpg http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w...74931713_n.jpg http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w...94647912_n.jpg I put about 30 miles on the setup and only experienced slight rubbing when I had the wheel turned all the way to the right driving in tight circles (this didn't happen when turning left). The car is still on stock suspension and I think this combo might rub the fender if lowered since the tires stick out a little ways from the fender. Also, I think a +42 or 40 offset would be better for this combo of width and tire. I'm planning on refinishing the wheels, since several have curb rash, and going with a 225/40/18 or a 235/40/18 street tire when I get back from a TDY in August. |
Meaty. I like the look.

They look bald?
Nice wheels!!! 1/2-1" inch drop and smaller series tires whould make them Beautiful!! |
They're BFG R1 DOT R-Comps so yeah they are essentially slicks. Used to have those wheels on my 180sx. Love em dude!!!
|
Yeah, they only have a couple grooves cut into the tread so they can be DOT legal. Thanks guys.

If you run a +42 or +40 this will push the wheel out further than the +45 you have now.

That's about as close as I can get for just over a month. The wheels are 500 miles away and I'll be in Florida till the first part of August. |
