Mud Guard Question

Has anyone put mud guards on their BRZ or does anyone know if the FRS mud guards will fit the existing holes and body of the BRZ? The FRS accessories info. has mud guards available but the Subaru accessories info. does not. Thanks in advance.

ManOfStiehl 06-28-2012 10:38 AM

AFAIK they should be the same. The only different body panels are the front bumpers and I don't see why you'd need to attach mudguards there. :D

ManOfStiehl 06-28-2012 10:42 AM

Also, since it IS a Subaru I plan on keeping an eye out for something like this as they're likely more useful than stock hard mudguards and I plan on daily driving this in the Wisconsin winter.

There was a thread here that showed some flashy red ones a while back. I can't remember the brand name though.

Jayde 06-28-2012 01:06 PM

I heard Rally Armor was making mud flaps for the BRZ if you're interested in those.

Neziah 06-28-2012 02:31 PM

I sent them an email inquiry early this morning about it, I'll post up what the say when they reply

PU060-18013-P1, I found the install directions and compared it to my BRZ. Looking at the holes, everything seems to match up. I also found them on 2 sites for $43.20.

I have a set on order, be here tomorrow, I'll let you know if they fit

Original FRS ones will work. See pic

Thanks everyone for all the info. Ordered a set yesterday, still don't have the car though. I'm not a fan of mud guards either on any car but I also hate rock chips etc and where we live they start putting cinders/sand down before it snows in late October, everytime it snows thru the winter and don't sweep the streets until after spring flowers start blooming.

Looks like rallyarmor has more pictures of their flaps up. Looks good in my opinion.

Here they are:

Curious to see what it looks like with those at a distance. They look great up close!

Here they are...

They look good, EXCEPT for the logo. I wouldn't buy them for that single reason.

Get them in Silver/Grey, barely visible. Especially once they get dirty/the sheen goes away.

Luke.Cariveau 07-02-2012 09:29 PM

Definitively will be ordering a set when they become released.

I've already got a set of the OEM ones on their way to me, otherwise good suggestion, thanks.

OrbitalEllipses 07-02-2012 09:32 PM

I had them in that color on my WRX. Real low key. My only problem was that one corner decided to rip off in about a year, randomly. The hardware was left behind still screwed into the wheel well but the mudflap was nowhere to be found. Not sure I want to pay $125 or whatever ridiculousness they're charging these days. Coverage on the OEM ones is piss poor, though...

Neziah 07-02-2012 10:32 PM

Add them on Facebook and tell them you want a black on black option!

JoeBoxer 07-14-2012 01:06 AM

I am thinking about getting the oem ones and painting the back part of it so they blend in a little better.

chulooz 07-14-2012 01:12 AM

It looks like the OEM guards cant even protect the front fender from dirt... whats the point?

Maybe black out logo and switch left/right if the finish is same on both sides.

Yup, I have these on my Mazda 3 in that exact color scheme and you don't notice the rallysport logo at all.

Yea that would probably work, or ordering the alternate colors. Didn't realize you could get different color schemes.

I had already ordered the OEM ones though before this thread so I guess I'll stick with those.

Please share some pics once you have them on. I think the OEM looks better, but would like to see some shots from the rear.:happy0180:

Will do, although it may be a while. I understand you have to remove the wheels to install them, so I guess I'll need to get some jack stands.

chenshuo 02-28-2013 03:22 PM

holy crap Rally Armor cost $130 for some mud flap!

i guess i'll just settle with OEM ones.

Anyone know where to get OEM mud guards for a good price in Canada?

I just got mine installed at a local Scion dealer two days ago. Cost $60 for all 4 mudflaps + $60 for install

Just get it from a local scion dealer like jermyzy said. But save yourself $60 and install them yourself. Easy install

chenshuo 02-28-2013 05:23 PM

yea i'm planning to install it myself. I'm not gonna pay $60 to someone else to install something that i can do. im probably more careful than some service tech.

Or do what i did when I got my OEM ones.

First time I took the car in for Scion Boost service (which includes tire rotation) I threw the OEM ones on the front seat in the original bags and todl the service guy "Hey I got these with the car but they never got installed, can you do them when the tires are off?"

Drove away an hour later with them installed, no charge.
