I guess FR-S won't be affected because they are made in a Subaru factory.

Well some part supplier is going to be forking over millions in penalties to Toyota that is for sure.

While Toyota may seek penalties from the supplier for failing to fulfill their obligations, it's unlikely that the supplier will pay out of pocket and more likely to be covered by the insurance coverage that will take care of the blast that caused these issues to begin with.

Yep! I deal with the insurance company inspections a couple of times a year. They really don't care about replacing the equipment or even the building in the event of a disaster. They are much more focused on the interruption of production and the resulting penalties than the physical costs.

Yeah because it might cost them 1m to rebuild the facility and get production back on track quickly but the penalties could be in the 10s of millions depending on the level of impact. Shutting down a major automakers production for a week would definitely be on that level.

I wonder if they will crank up the RX production in Cambridge if there is a demand for it over there, not sure if they ever imported the RX back into Japan, wouldn't it be funny, people would be fretting it as "lower quality" stuff haha. RHD car assembly? They probably don't make the right parts on this side of the pond... They do make few LHD over there for importing to here.

Doubt it, since it's partially owned by Toyota:

Oh the insurance will still pay off. I should have been clearer in my first post.
